The Boys Cast Teases Season 3 Trailer Announcement | CBR

With a teaser trailer for Season 3 on the horizon, the cast of Prime Video’s The Boys is hinting that fans should keep their eyes open.

The official Twitter for the superhero parody show shared behind-the-scenes photos of four actors playing the underground resistance team referred to as The Boys: Laz Alonso as Marvin/Mother’s Milk; Erin Moriarty as the reluctant supe Annie/Starlight; Karen Fukuhara, who plays the mute but dangerous Kimiko/The Female; and Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie. All of the stars are solemnly facing the camera while in process of having their hair and makeup done, and the tweet is captioned simply, “Keeping an eye out for the S3 teaser.”

A brief teaser for Season 3 of The Boys was released in January, focusing on the unhinged mind of Homelander behind the heroic, smiling facade that he presents to the paparazzi as he poses with Starlight. However, the tweet from the official account suggests that the next trailer will give a much more complete look at the upcoming episodes. In February, showrunner Eric Kripke promised that a trailer would be out “in a few weeks.”

Season 2 of The Boys aired in Fall 2020, with the third season delayed until June 2022 due to the global pandemic. To bridge the long gap between seasons, Prime Video created a miniseries called “Seven on 7” which shows the in-world propaganda of the fictional Vought News Network. Starring Matthew Edison as Cameron Coleman, “Seven on 7” is made up of segments dealing with topics like what happened to Blindspot, how Hughie deals with being interviewed, and more.

An animated anthology spinoff series titled The Boys Presents: Diabolical is also now streaming on Prime Video to help fans through the wait, and a college-themed live-action spinoff is in the works with no release window yet announced.

Season 3 of the core show will introduce new supes for The Boys to go up against, including Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and The Walking Dead‘s Laurie Holden as the Crimson Countess. Like many of the supes’ public images in The Boys, these two mimic the themes of classic superhero characters, in this case Marvel’s Captain America and Scarlet Witch, respectively.

Season 3 of The Boys premieres on Prime Video June 3, 2022.
