Superman knows pretty much every hero in the DC Universe – many of which would have been a better choice than the members of the Authority that he ended up bringing with him. Superman’s time on Warworld would be going so much smoother if he just reached out to he right heroes first.

10 Shazam Would Have Brought A Lot To The Table

Shazam with White Lightning Smile

Shazam is one of the most powerful heroes on Earth. Empowered by the magical lighting of the Wizard, he’s much more than just a kid given great power. He’s a hero on the same level was Superman himself and the variety of powers he gives him a lot that he can do that others can’t. His multitude of skills and powers would have made him perfect to take to Warworld.

His physical power would have gave Superman a great weapon to use against Mongul but the wisdom of Solomon would have been more helpful. Shazam is a clever hero, one who could have made a huge difference on Warworld.

9 Booster Gold’s Advantages Overshadow His Weaknesses

When audiences think of great heroes, they don’t exactly think of Booster Gold – not that they shouldn’t. While he can be quite flippant and doesn’t exactly take things very seriously, he knows when to turn it on and has saved the timestream more than once over the years. It’s actually his time traveling that would be the biggest help on Warworld.

With the help of his robot Skeets, Booster Gold could have used his time travel powers as a hidden hole card for Superman, setting things up in the past for Superman’s assault. It would have given the attack an extra dimension and saved lives.

8 Kilowog Is One Of The Toughest Green Lanterns Ever

Superman knows all of the Earthbound Green Lanterns rather well, but if he brought a Lantern to Warworld, he would have went with someone else. Kilowog is the drill sergeant of the Corps and one of the toughest fighters in the universe. He’s a physically imposing presence and his power ring mastery makes him perfect for the mission.

Warworld’s end would definitely make things easier for the Corps and Kilowog is just the Lantern to help out. He’s an excellent fighter, as tough as they come, and is one of the best ringslingers ever. Superman would have done well bringing him along.

7 Hawkman Has Skills Superman Would Have Needed

Hawkman made a name for himself throughout space and time. He’s worked with Superman for years in the Justice League and his hard hitting fighting style has made a difference in many battles with the League, the Justice Society, or on his own. He has thousands of years of fighting experience and is an excellent tactician to boot.

Hawkman would have been a huge help on Warworld. He’s a great planner and knows when to take orders. He also knows when to take command and would have worked very well as a lieutenant for Superman, helping him lead the Authority to victory.

6 The Atom’s Shrinking Would Have Given Superman A Big Advantage

Ray-Palmer-Atom-On-Edge

There have been two Atoms that Superman has worked with. He’s known Ray Palmer longer, but respects Ryan Choi as well and bringing either of them to Warworld would have been intelligent. That said, Palmer might have been a slightly better choice because of his time with Superman on the League, knowing how Superman wants things done.

The Atom’s shrinking abilities make him the perfect infiltrator and would have allowed him to set up all kinds of things in Warworld that would have helped out. In fact, he almost certainly would have been able to take out the red sun energy projectors that leached so much of Superman’s power.

5 Donna Troy’s Strength And Skill Would Have Come In Handy

Donna Troy made a name for herself as Wonder Girl, working with the Teen Titans. Superman has known her for years and trusts her skills & experience. She would have made an excellent addition to the Authority, especially since Superman couldn’t ask Wonder Woman to go with him and Hippolyta was serving with the Justice League.

Donna has taken over for Wonder Woman in the past, so she’s got exactly the kind of experience that Superman would have needed. On top of that, she has few weaknesses for Mongul to exploit, making her the perfect hero for Superman to have brought along.

4 Martian Manhunter Is Exactly The Powerhouse Superman Needed

Martian Manhunter has one of the best mixes of powers in the DC Universe. These abilities alone would have been enough to earn him a spot in the Justice League, but Martian Manhunter’s utility with these abilities are what cements his place as a League mainstay. His powers and experience made him exactly what Superman needed.

Martian Manhunter brings a lot to the table. He’s strong enough to beat on anyone around him. but his shapeshifting, telepathy, invisibility, and intangibility give him infiltration options that would have made him invaluable. The two are good friends and Martian Manhunter is used to being everyone’s ace in the hole.

3 Conner Kent Is Someone Superman Can Trust

Superboy Conner Kent Young Justice

Conner Kent’s time as Superboy proved just how great of a hero he could be. He and Superman have been getting reacquainted after Conner being away for years. Conner is tough as nails and more skilled than his young age lets on and, most importantly, Superman trusts him. Giving him a spot in the Authority would have been a smart move.

His half human/half Kryptonian physiology gives him many of the same weaknesses as Superman, but also some distinct advantages. He’s someone that Superman would have been able to depend on no matter what and had the experience to make things easier for the Man of Steel.

2 Supergirl And Superman Make An Excellent Team

While it was proven that Kryptonians wouldn’t be much help on Warworld, Superman didn’t know that when he was preparing –which makes it so bizarre that he didn’t ask Supergirl to come with him. Part of that may have been wanting to protect his cousin, but she has experience and a fierceness that would have been invaluable on Warworld.

Supergirl and Superman have been fighting together for a long time, and she’s proven she can comfortably stand among the greatest heroes. Supergirl has the kind of tenacity that Superman would have made good use of and the two’s experience working together would have came in handy.

1 General Zod Would Have Made The Perfect Ally For Superman

General Zod, Ursa, and son, Lor-Zod

General Zod has long been one of Superman’s greatest rivals, but they recently made peace. Despite their similar powers, what sets them apart is Zod’s experience as a Kryptonian general. For this reason, he would have been perfect to bring with the Authority.

Even with the red sun energy projectors Mongul used to weaken Kryptonians, Zod would have been a massive boon to the assault. Zod’s skills with tactics and on the battlefield would have been a huge asset to Superman and the Authority. He knows how to fight with or without powers and would have helped tremendously on Warworld.
