Charlie Cox Shares His MCU Team-Up Wish List for Daredevil | CBR

Charlie Cox, star of Daredevil, wants to see his character team up with more MCU heroes in the future, suggesting that he would like to explore partnerships from both inside and outside the comics.

When asked during an interview with ComicBook.com who he would like to see Daredevil share screen time with, Cox replied, “I really like the Black Widow, the Daredevil/Black Widow stuff. That relationship is really funny to me, I don’t know why. I find it really funny and sexy at the same time.” Cox said that besides Black Widow it was difficult to think of other heroes, though he thought Spider-Man was “the obvious one.”

Heroes aside, Cox also said that he “would have to get more time with Bullseye” as he “really enjoyed working with Wilson Bethel in that character.” As he noted, the Netflix series “just touched on” the Bullseye story before the show was cancelled following Season 3. Yet, despite the bounty of MCU heroes to chose from, Cox finally admitted that above all “it would be really cool to get some Daredevil/Spiderman stuff.”

Cox’s Daredevil had a number of memorable team-ups during the series’ run, including a complicated partnership with Elektra Natchios, played by Élodie Yung, and a tumultuous relationship with The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal. Daredevil’s run of traditional team-ups continued in the Netflix crossover series The Defenders, where he notably partnered with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist to take down a common enemy, The Hand.

Despite Netflix’s cancellation of Daredevil, Cox’s portrayal of the titular character is set to continue within the MCU. So far, he has appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Daredevil and the rest of Netflix’s Marvel shows have left the streaming service and are scheduled to move to Disney+. Since the announcement, there has been speculation about the show’s possible revival to go along with further Daredevil tie-ins within the MCU. For his part, Cox believes a Daredevil reboot could certainly work on Disney+, though he thinks that certain conditions must be met to allow the show to explore Daredevil’s more mature subject matter.

Daredevil, along with the rest of the Netflix Marvel shows, will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 16.
