Disney+ Is Officially the Streaming Home for Daredevil, Jessica Jones and More

Fans of Netflix’s catalog of Marvel shows will soon be able to watch the gritty superhero series on Disney+.

Disney announced today that every season of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron First, The Defenders and The Punisher will arrive on Disney+ on March 16. This comes just weeks after Netflix confirmed that subscribers will no longer be able to access the series through the subscription service. The announcement puts to rest concerns about the show’s future, despite many fans suspecting that they would eventually find their way to Disney’s streaming platform.

“Disney+ has served as the home for some of the most beloved brands in the industry, and the addition of these live-action shows brings more from the Marvel brand together, all in one place,” said Michael Paull, President of Disney Streaming. “We have experienced great success with an expanded content offering on Disney+ across our global markets and are excited to continue that here in the U.S. as well by offering our consumers not only great content with the new Marvel additions, but also a set of features that help ensure a viewing experience most suitable for them and their family.”

As the grittier shared universe of The Defenders arrives on Disney+, the service is also ushering in an update to its Parental Controls in the United States. Disney revealed that these changes will allow users to select content rating restrictions for each profile on an account, alongside the addition of a PIN code lock.
