Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the newest installment in the franchise, was released on January 28th and many fans have been having a great time exploring the region of Hisui while catching and battling Pokémon. There are many different types of Pokémon, with one of the most popular and common being Grass types.
There are some very powerful Grass type Pokémon in the game that can help players on their journey. There are several Grass types that stand out above the rest in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, each with unique strengths and capabilities.
10 Hisuian Lilligant Is A New Form Of An Old Favorite
Lilligant is a Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Black and White. However, the Lilligant in this new installment is quite different than the one back then. There are some Pokémon that change depending on the region they are in, so players can only obtain the Hisuian version of Lilligant in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. If they have a Petilil and use a Sun Stone on it, it will evolve into Hisuian Lilligant, whose strongest Grass moves consist of Leaf Blade, Petal Dance, and Leaf Storm. Lilligant’s base stats are 70 HP, 105 Attack, 75 Defense, 50 Special Attack, 75 Special Defense, and 105 Speed.
9 Hisuian Electrode Has A New Form At Both Stages
Electrode made its debut appearance in Pokémon Red and Blue, but fans will find a different version of it in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In order to add Hisuian Electrode to their team, players must catch Hisuian Voltorb at the Coronet Highlands’ Sacred Plaza and use a Leaf Stone on it. Hisuian Electrode’s most powerful Grass moves consist of Energy Ball and Chloroblast, and its base stats are 60 HP, 50 Attack, 70 Defense, 80 Special Attack, 80 Special Defense, and 150 Speed.
8 Carnivine Is A Constant Menace
Carnivine is a Pokémon that made its first appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Seeing as how Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a prequel to those titles, it makes sense that Carnivine would be in this game as well.
In order to add Carnivine to their team, players have to go to the Crimson Mirelands and catch it. Its strongest Grass type move is Energy Ball and its base stats are 74 HP, 100 Attack, 72 Defense, 90 Special Attack, 72 Special Defense, and 46 Speed.
7 Abomasnow Is A Surprising Grass Type
Players may be surprised by its appearance but Abomasnow, which was first introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, is in fact a Grass type Pokémon. Pokémon Legends: Arceus can either catch it at Alabaster Icelands or evolve it from Snover, which can also be caught at Alabaster Icelands. Abomasnow’s strongest Grass moves consist of Energy Ball and Wood Hammer and its base stats are 90 HP, 92 Attack, 75 Defense, 92 Special Attack, 85 Special Defense, and 60 Speed.
6 Roserade Is One Of The Few Petal Dance Users
Roserade originally appeared in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can either use a Shiny Stone on Roselia to evolve it into Roserade or catch Roserade directly at Cloudpool Ridge in Crimson Mirelands. If they decide to get Roserade by evolution, they can find Roselia at Crimson Mirelands’ Cloudpool Ridge, just like Roserade, as well as the Gapejow Bog. Roserade’s strongest Grass moves are Energy Ball and Petal Dance and its base stats are 60 HP, 70 Attack, 65 Defense, 125 Special Attack, 105 Special Defense, and 90 Speed.
5 Leafeon Is A Classic
Eevee has always been a fan favorite Pokémon due to it being able to evolve into many different Pokémon, all of which are a different type. Eevee’s Grass type evolution, Leafeon, was first introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can either use a Leaf Stone on Eevee to get Leafeon, or catch it directly from a Space-time Distortion in Obsidian Fieldlands. Leafeon’s most powerful Grass moves are Leaf Blade and Energy Ball, and its base stats are 65 HP, 110 Attack, 130 Defense, 60 Special Attack, 65 Special Defense, and 95 Speed.
4 Torterra Makes A Triumphant Return
Turtwig was Pokémon Diamond and Pearl‘s starter Grass Pokémon. Its final evolution is Torterra, which, in Pokémon Legends Arceus, can be found at the Holm of Trials in Crimson Mirelands. If players wish to evolve it rather than directly catch it, they can find both Turtwig and Grotle at the Droning Meadow in Crimson Mirelands. Torterra’s strongest Grass moves include Leaf Blade, Wood Hammer, and Energy Ball. Its base stats are 95 HP, 109 Attack, 105 Defense, 75 Special Attack, 85 Special Defense, and 56 Speed.
3 Tangrowth Can Evolve Using A Move
The first game that Tangrowth was in was Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It evolves from Tangela, which players can catch at the Gapejow Bog in Crimson Mirelands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. They can then evolve Tangela into Tangrowth by having it learn a move called Ancient Power, or they can catch Tangrowth directly. Tangrowth’s strongest Grass move is Energy Ball and its base stats are 100 HP, 100 Attack, 125 Defense, 110 Special Attack, 50 Special Defense, and 50 Speed.
2 Hisuian Decidueye Is A Brand New Alternate
The strongest Grass type Hisuian variant in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is Decidueye. Decidueye made its first appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon. In the beginning of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can choose Rowlet as their starter Pokémon. If they pick it, they can simply evolve it into Dartrix, followed by Decidueye. However, if they choose either Cyndaquil or Oshawott as their starter, they’ll have to wait until beating the campaign in order to have another opportunity to get a Decidueye. Its strongest Grass moves include Leaf Blade, Energy Ball, and Leaf Storm, and its base stats are 88 HP, 112 Attack, 80 Defense, 95 Special Attack, 95 Special Defense, and 60 Speed.
1 Shaymin Has Multiple Forms
Shaymin is not only a Grass type Pokémon, but also a Mythical Pokémon. Originally introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Shaymin has two forms, Land and Sky, both of which are in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Shaymin is one of the hardest Pokémon to get in the game, as only those that have save data from Pokémon Sword or Shield on their account will be able to get it. If they have played Pokémon Sword or Shield, fans will then have to beat Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘ campaign in order to go on a side quest that results in encountering Shaymin. Its strongest Grass moves include Seed Flare and Energy Ball, and its base stats are 100 HP, 103 Attack, 75 Defense, 120 Special Attack, 75 Special Defense, and 127 Speed when it’s in Sky form, while all of its stats are 100 when in Land Form.
