The Seven Warlords were pirates in service of the marines in the One Piece universe. They were one of the first threats that the Straw Hats faced in the Grand Line, with each member possessing their own formidable powers and resources. Though they have been defeated and the Seven Warlord system has since been abolished, the Seven Warlords would have a lasting impact on the series, and some of the former members still show up from time to time.
Despite being considered equals in the eyes of the World Government, the Warlords have drastically different levels of durability. By measuring them, fans can better gauge how easy they are to defeat and whether or not they were ever a sound bulwark for the Navy to rely on.
7 Hancock’s Powers Aren’t Designed Around Survival
Boa Hancock is a deadly fighter, as proven when incapacitating dozens of marines near Amazon Lily. She was also powerful enough to defeat several Pacifistas at once by petrifying them.
However, neither her devil fruit nor past experiences suggest that she is able to withstand direct attacks. Instead, her fighting style is tailored around subversion, seduction, and unmitigated offense. She also prefers to surround herself with legions of devoted warriors willing to fight and die for their queen, only partaking in battle when absolutely necessary.
6 Gecko Moria Is Nothing Without His Shades & Zombie Hordes
Once upon a time, Gecko Moria was a villain worthy of standing against Kaido. His fall from grace has left him a shadow of his former self, as he struggled against Luffy’s standard punches throughout the events of Thriller Bark.
Typically, Moria prefers to have his zombies fight for him. When forced into a direct confrontation, he will falter in a matter of seconds (as proven through his battle against Jimbei at Marineford). Ultimately, the villain was found too weak to keep his position and was nearly assassinated by Doflamingo.
5 Crocodile’s Logia Limits How Enemies Can Harm Him
Crocodile’s Logia-based devil fruit makes him a sand human. As a result, he is completely impervious to most physical attacks and can even go head to head with opponents as powerful as Doflamingo.
Unlike other Logia users, Crocodile can be harmed even if his opponent doesn’t have armament haki by being exposed to water. Considering that Luffy defeated him before acquiring Second Gear, he cannot take much abuse if his opponent actually has the means of injuring him. Luckily for him, Crocodile’s plethora of offensive tactics make him extremely dangerous to approach.
4 Mihawk Is A Legendary Swordsman Who Thrived At Marineford
Mihawk is renowned as the world’s finest swordsman, and for good reason. He thrived against Whitebeard’s finest pirates during the Marineford war, with few able to stand against him.
Considering his impeccable swordsmanship skills, few have received an opportunity to put Mihawk’s durability to the test. However, considering that Zoro acknowledged him as a superior (a man who could survive being crushed by Oars, ripped apart by Arlong, and zapped by Eneru), it follows that Mihawk’s resilience surpasses his own. The extent of his tenacity can only be speculated until he finally finds an adversary of his caliber.
3 Kuma Was A Mechanical Monstrosity Able To Shrug Off The Straw Hats’ Attacks
As a cyborg designed by Doctor Vegapunk and a former member of the Revolutionary Army, Kuma’s circumstances have made him extremely resilient. He even overcame the Straw Hats’ combined attacks at the conclusion of Thriller Bark and Sabaody.
Kuma was so durable that he served as a template for the Pacifista cyborgs — unstoppable killing machines based on Kuma that even managed to pose a challenge to the Whitebeard pirates. However, Luffy and his crew have gradually surpassed him over time.
2 Jimbei Was Durable Enough To Withstand A Direct Attack From Akainu
Jimbei was a hero of Fish-Man Island and one of their only connections to the humans. Shortly after being introduced, he proved durable enough to survive a direct attack from Akainu.
Considering that the admiral was strong enough to significantly wound Whitebeard (who in turn resisted hundreds of stabs, shots, and cannonballs), Jimbei’s ability to survive is nothing short of a miracle. It is even more impressive when considering that he has no fear of death, which helped him survive a confrontation with Big Mom at Whole Cake Island.
1 Doflamingo Managed To Survive Luffy’s Fourth Gear On Top Of Preexisting Injuries
Despite his skinny frame, Doflamingo is particularly durable. During the battle for Dressrosa, he survived Luffy’s first usage of Gear Four despite already having his insides destroyed by Trafalgar Law.
Doflamingo’s durability is derived from his armament haki and devil fruit. By stitching ruptured internal organs back together, he can sustain himself for longer periods of time than most villains at his level. However, he has admitted that his tactics are a temporary solution, and he can’t forcibly thread his body whole forever. While he may not be invulnerable, his abilities are still more than enough for Doflamingo to be definitively considered the most durable of the Seven Warlords.
