Attack on Titan features a compelling cast of vivid and deep characters, from the hero turned villain Eren Yeager to the shy but brilliant Armin Arlert and the stern perfectionist Levi Ackerman, among many others. Partway through the series, another major character appreared, Eren’s half-brother Zeke Yeager. He controls the Beast Titan and carries royal blood.
Zeke Yeager is brought to life not only with stellar animation, but also fine voice acting from Takehito Koyasu, who has been busy voicing anime roles since the late 1980s. He has appeared in a dazzling variety of anime characters during all that time, from isekai characters to chefs. He has voiced some drama CD roles and Japanese dub roles as well. Which other anime characters have the voice of Takehito Koyasu?
10 Dio Brando Is Vampire With A Stand (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Dio Brando the vampire is probably one of Takehito Koyasu’s best-known roles in recent years. His voice truly embodies the smug arrogance of this vampire character. Dio Brando was born into poverty in Victorian England, only to don the stone mask and become something far more.
Dio later lost to his nemesis Jonathan Joestar, only to return as DIO the Stand-using vampire in the Stardust Crusaders story arc as the ultimate villain. He terrorized Jotaro’s squad until he finally faced his final defeat and dissolved into ash in the morning sun.
9 Demon Lord Clayman Is A Cruel Master (That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime)
Dio Brando isn’t the only villain role that Takehito Koyasu has voiced in the world of anime. He has also lent his voice to the wicked Demon Lord Clayman, one of Rimuru Tempest’s worst enemies in this new isekai world. Clayman simply cannot tolerate Rimuru, and he wants that upstart slime dead.
Clayman is a sharp dresser but is a total monster on the inside. He only gains allies through exploitation and control, rather than trust and friendship. Eventually, he faced Rimuru personally during Walpurgis, only to be destroyed at long last.
8 Nagi Springfield Was A Kind Wizard (Mahou Sensei Negima!)
Ken Akamatsu’s long-running manga series Mahou Sensei Negima! received a relatively short anime, and even if the anime falls short of the source manga, it does capture some of the manga’s best scenes and characters. That includes Nagi Springfield, the father of Negi Springfield.
Nagi was a powerful wizard but also a fun-loving troublemaker. This annoyed his vampire lover, Evangeline McDowell, to no end. Nagi later went missing in Negi’s early childhood, and Negi has been desperately searching for him ever since. If Nagi is still alive, that is.
7 Admiral Aokiji Wields Ice (One Piece)
Admiral Aokiji is one of the senior commanding officers of all the Marines, alongside the lava-slinging Akainu and the light-based Kizaru. Aokiji is cool and detached, true to his ice-based devil fruit power, and he is often seen napping or trying to nap. He’ll only fight if he must.
Aokiji is a devastating fighter who can take on many lesser foes at once with his icy powers, and even the Straw Hat Pirates should be careful around the likes of him. He sounds even more imposing and powerful when he speaks, being voiced by Takehito Koyasu.
6 Pesche Guatiche Is A Friendly Arrancar (Bleach)
Takehito Koyasu has voiced some major roles in many anime series, but he is also capable of voicing some minor characters to add a little oomph to them, which includes the minor Bleach character Pesche Guatiche. This character has only a minimal impact in the story, but he is easy to like.
Pesche is an Arrancar, or an unmasked monster spirit, and he is loyal to the fallen Espada Nelliel Tu Odelschwank, along with Dondochakka. He and Dondochakka are highly protective of Nelliel, especially when Nelliel reverts to her toddler form, and Pesche can defend her with his glowing sword, Ultima.
5 Excalibur Is An Obnoxious Sword (Soul Eater)
In the world of Soul Eater, weapons are not just weapons. They are conscious beings and often have a human form, such as Soul Eater Evans himself, and these weapons vary from pistols to swords, scythes and far more. Then there’s the unique weapon Excalibur.
Excalibur only appears here and there, and each time he appears, he is bound to annoy viewers with his silly but strict rules and his constant self-praise. He will take any chance to sing a song about his own greatness, and that’s not something most fans want to hear. At least he has a cool voice, thanks to Mr. Koyasu.
4 Fairy King Oberon Is A Total Creep (Sword Art Online)
The semi-isekai series Sword Art Online has a handful of villains, from the player-killing Death Gun to the Administrator, Nobuyuki Sugou, who calls himself King Oberon. He wanted a Queen Titania by his side, and he chose Asuna Yuuki for the role.
Oberon is more than a pompous fairy king. He’s a total monster and sinister creep, and no one in the world of Sword Art Online likes him. He treated Asuna like a pet or servant, which was deeply demeaning, and when he fought Kirito, he was exposed for the helpless coward he was. It’s no wonder so many anime fans hate him.
3 Roswall Mathers Is Always Scheming (Re:Zero)
Roswaal Mathers is a major character in the isekai series Re:Zero, a well-dressed and flamboyant fellow who runs the luxurious Mathers estate. He is generally a benefactor of Subaru Natsuki’s, and he is also the employer of the maid sisters Ram and Rem. But that’s not all.
Roswaal knows more than he lets on, and later, at the Sanctuary, his true goals came to light. By then, he was using Subaru as a puppet, and he launched a scheme concerning his old friend and lover, the witch Echidna, the witch of greed. Subaru was soon in over his head.
2 Jeffrey Stuart Loved His Brothers (My Next Life As A Villainess)
Jeffrey Stuart is among the kindest characters Takehito Koyasu has ever voiced in recent anime. His main goal is to simply look after his three younger brothers Ian, Geordo and Alan. These boys are all royalty, and a lot is expected of them. Jeffrey, as the oldest, feels responsible for the other three to the point of self-sacrifice.
Being a prince is tougher than it looks, but Jeffrey manages it with dignity and grace. He openly shares his feelings with his gorgeous and smart fiancee, lady Larna. Jeffrey also befriended the isekai heroine Katarina Claes and made a fairly strong impression on her.
1 Papa Shirogane Is An Awkward Anime Dad (Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War)
Miyuki Shirogane is the class council president of Shuchiin Academy, while his father, known simply as Papa, doesn’t seem too proud of his son’s accomplishments. Papa Shirogane does care for his son and daughter, but he is also preoccupied with his own woes, which is understandable. He lost both his wife and his company.
Papa Shirogane only works intermittently at most, meaning the Shiroganes are barely scraping by, though it helps when his two kids work part-time. Papa is also vaguely curious about his son’s love life, and he eventually ran across Kaguya Shinomiya during a school sports festival. He didn’t make the best impression on her.
