LEGO announced a massive addition to its Ultimate Collector Series: a 6,700 piece AT-AT, most famous for its appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
When all 6,785 pieces of this “immersive and challenging build” are assembled, collectors can recreate the Battle of Hoth with LEGO’s AT-AT, which stands at an impressive 24.5 inches high, 10 inches wide and 28 inches deep, and its large interior can hold up to 40 minifigures and 4 speederbikes. Complete with posable legs, head and weapons, such as rotating canons and a bomb-drop hatch, the AT-AT is priced at $799.99 and is geared for builders 18 and up. The AT-AT Ultimate Collectors Series set goes on sale Nov. 26.
LEGO describes the set as the perfect gift for “Star Wars fans and any advanced LEGO builder,” When assembled, the panels of the AT-AT can be lifted off to reveal the large, detailed interior, which can hold up to 40 minifigures and four speederbikes overall. However, the set itself comes with 9 minifigures, including General Veers, who can be placed into the fully posable head/cockpit along with two other figures, a Snowtrooper Commander, four snowtroopers, two AT-AT drivers and two speederbikes.
To complete the Imperial attack force, an E-Web heavy repeating blaster is also included. The AT-AT also comes with a Luke Skywalker minifigure, which can be attached to the model by a cable so any collector can recreate the iconic scene from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. For collectors looking to display their work, the AT-AT also comes with an information plaque to showcase alongside the model. Along with the rotating canons and bomb-drop hatch, this buildable model also features more opening hatches and cannons with realistic recoil action.
This is not the first Star Wars-themed addition to the LEGO Ultimate Collectors Series. In September 2020, LEGO unveiled an Imperial Star Destroyer set which stood at an imposing43 inches long, 17 inches high and 22 inches wide and contained 4,784 pieces. Three years prior, in 2017, LEGO released a collectors version of the Millennium Falcon that totaled 7,500 pieces.
