The acclaimed horror franchise A Quiet Place will soon be a video game.
A collaborative effort between publisher Saber Interactive and developers iLLOGIKA and EP1T0ME, little is currently known about the video game version of A Quiet Place. The title’s website confirms that it will be taking place in the “A Quiet Place universe,” suggesting that it won’t be a direct adaption of the films starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The developers have also confirmed that the game will be a single-player, story-focused experience.

“This first official video game set in the terrifying A Quiet Place universe will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion, and drama for which the series is famous,” reads a press release penned by Saber Interactive. “The game is in development by iLLOGIKA, the Montreal-based studio with veteran talent from the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises, and published by Saber Interactive, the Embracer Group company behind the hit game World War Z and the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game.”
The world of A Quiet Place is a post-apocalyptic nightmare where humans are hunted by a vicious race of blind aliens with a startlingly accurate sense of hearing. The original film, released in 2018, follows The Abbot family as they attempt to survive the harsh realities of living in near-complete silence. A sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, was released in 2021. Both films were praised by fans and critics alike for their intense set-pieces and compelling story-telling.
Many fans of the franchise have suggested the game may play similarly to Alien: Isolation, an adaption of the popular horror franchise that sees players going up against a lone Xenomorph. As Amanda Ripley, daughter of franchise hero Ellen Ripley, gamers can’t kill the titular creature and are forced to navigate around a derelict space station while making as little noise as possible, hiding whenever the alien slinks past. Various weapons can be obtained as the game progress, but many are ineffective against the hunter.
Speaking to the upcoming game, Saber Interactive’s head of publishing Todd Hollenshead said, “The amazing success of the A Quiet Place movies makes it clear audiences are hungry for more adventures in this universe, and iLLOGIKA is creating their own truly engaging experience that lives up to the name of this beloved property. We are proud to say that A Quiet Place is the first game we will be releasing by an external studio from the growing Saber publishing label.”
A Quiet Place is scheduled to launch in 2022. The platforms that will support the game are currently unknown.
