The first season of Turner & Hooch has explored the mysterious circumstances behind Scott Turner Sr.’s death. However, in the upcoming season finale, his son similarly finds himself in mortal danger.
In an exclusive clip from the Turner & Hooch Season 1 finale, Scott Turner Jr.’s will-they/won’t-they love interest Erica teams up with Scott’s occasional U.S. Marshal partner Xavier to search for the kidnapped Scott. As Scott is held captive by those running a secret dogfighting ring, hiding his U.S. Marshal credentials to avoid his father’s grisly fate, Erica and Xavier hit the road and blast some k-pop while tracking Scott.
A continuation of the beloved 1989 film starring Tom Hanks as a police detective who gains a precocious canine companion, Turner & Hooch premiered on Disney+ in July for a 12-episode first season. The series was developed by Matt Nix and stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, the son of Hanks’ character, who follows in his father’s footsteps to be partnered up by a rambunctious dog that helps him solve crimes.
While the series has followed the standard case-of-the-week storytelling approach, the season has featured an overarching storyline that sees Scott and his sister Laura investigate their father’s death. Recently, Scott learned that his father stumbled across the dogfighting ring before being taken captive himself, setting up the personal stakes for the Disney+ series’ season finale.
The season finale of Turner & Hooch premieres Oct. 6 on Disney+.
