The Latest Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett News and Story Details, So Far

At the start of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker and his allies enacted their plot to rescue Han Solo, who had been captured and frozen in carbonite by bounty hunter Boba Fett in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. During their battle, Fett was knocked into the Sarlacc Pit and his canon fate was left uncertain until he returned in Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2. By the time that Disney+ series wrapped up, the bounty hunter had returned and reclaimed his lost armor from Din Djarin, which set the stage for the Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett spin-off.

Who Are the Cast & Crew of Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett?

Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen are expected to reprise their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, respectively. Otherwise, no additional casting information has been announced as of writing.

The Book of Boba Fett will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez and Kathleen Kennedy. In addition to directing 2008’s Iron Man, Favreau is billed as the creator of The Mandalorian and directed the majority of episodes in the show’s two seasons. Filoni, who created Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, directed The Mandalorian “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger” and “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” while Robert Rodriguez helmed  “Chapter 14: The Tragedy.” Episodes of The Book of Boba Fett will be directed by Favreau, Filoni, Rodriguez and Bryce Dallas Howard.

No trailer for The Book of Boba Fett has been released as of writing, and there’s no indication of when the first official footage will release. Filming on The Book of Boba Fett concluded in June. In September, Disney+ announced The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Dec. 29.
