WWE Theorizes a What If…? Scenario Undertaker Fans Wish Was Real

Marvel Studios’ first animated project What If…? has generated plenty of excitement for its alternate-reality storytelling. WWE has joined in the weekly discussion by offering up its own multiverse scenario starring the Undertaker.

The WWE on FOX Twitter account posed the question, “#WhatIf @BrockLesnar had never broken @Undertaker’s streak?” It followed this question up with “Go” and a downward arrow emoji, encouraging followers and fans to get creative with their own “What If…?” storylines based in the WWE Universe.

Some of the many responses include accelerating Roman Reign’s heel turn so it happened in 2016 instead of 2019, Reigns being the superstar to end Undertaker’s WrestleMania unbeaten streak instead of Brock Lesnar and KofiMania (Kofi Kingston earning a WWE title match against champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35) never happening. Ultimately, the majority of responses centered on the Tribal Chief and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Brock Lesnar defeated Undertaker at 2014’s WrestleMania XXX, thus ending The Dead Man’s WrestleMania undefeated streak. At the time, Undertaker was 21-0.

The recent mid-season trailer for What If…? gave fans a glimpse of what’s in store for the remaining episodes of Season 1. While it recapped the previous episodes, we also saw what appeared to be the assembling of a multiversal Avengers team starring Captain Carter, Star-Lord T’Challa and more heroes. What brings this group of characters together remains a mystery, however. One episode of What If…? featured Marvel Zombies, with Mark Millar revealing a live-action project may also be in the works.

WWE shook up the wrestling community on Raw with Money in the Bank winner Big E cashing in his briefcase to defeat Bobby Lashley and become the new WWE champion.
