Star Trek: It Smells Like Adventure in Lower Decks Mid-Season Trailer

Paramount+ has dropped a brand-new trailer for the ongoing second season of its comedic animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Revealed as part of Paramount+’s Star Trek Day celebration, the Lower Decks mid-season trailer shows just what kind of hijinks fans can expect the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos to get up to in the latter half of Season 2, including a battle with the Borg, a (postponed) ballroom dancing competition and D’Vana being turned into a giant scorpion.

Lower Decks Season 2 premiered last month on Aug. 12 and, much like Season 1, will run for a total of 10 episodes. The second season’s fifth episode, “An Embarrassment of Dooplers,” arrives on Paramount+ tomorrow, Sept. 9. The animated series — which stars the voices of Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Eugene Cordero and more — has already been renewed for a third season.

Star Trek: Lower Decks “focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.”
