Triple H is WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development, and until recently was one of the major voices backstage guiding NXT. However, all of that is subject to change as NXT undergoes a rebranding. A promotional teaser for NXT offers a glimpse at what is in store for superstars and fans when NXT relaunches. Gone are the dark background and black-and-gold logo, replaced with a multicolor barrage. Sept. 14 is the date circled for the new NXT to debut, with reports that Vince McMahon and Bruce Pritchard will be running the developmental brand instead of Triple H.
There are rumors NXT will focus on training the next generation of WWE Superstars, instead of relying on the signing of big-name independent talents. Names such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson have decided against signing with WWE, opting to sign contracts with WWE’s competitor AEW. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley slammed WWE’s creative team for mishandling its young talent, which he attributes to stars looking to part ways with the company.
