My Hero Academia: 10 Most Immature Students, Ranked | CBR

My Hero Academia‘s cast of characters is roughly split into three groups: Pro Heroes like All Might, villains such as Tomura Shigaraki, and most important of all, student heroes such as Izuku Midoriya and his classmates. Heroes in training are expected to study hard and train with their Quirks, and they need to be on their best behavior at all times.

High school students are still growing up, and it’s understandable if they’re sometimes overwhelmed or act up, since they’re under a lot of pressure. Still, students at U.A., Shiketsu, and other schools are expected to act in a professional and dignified manner as trainee heroes, and some simply don’t. Who are these immature students?

10 Kosei Tsuburaba Daydreamed About Tsuyu’s Tongue

Kosei Tsuburaba is one of the background characters in Class 1-B, and while his personality is generally tolerable, he’s not above goofing off once in a while, even during the U.A. Sports Festival. He sometimes taunts and teases his rivals and opponents, but at least he’s not cruel about it.

Later, during the Joint Training arc, Kosei fought hard until Tsuyu Asui the frog girl captured him with her long tongue and dragged him away. The entire time, Kosei savored the feeling of Tsuyu’s tongue gripping him. Now that’s just silly.

9 Mina Ashido Pokes Her Nose Into People’s Love Lives

The acid girl, Mina Ashido, can be a bit immature at times, but it’s all harmless fun and she always means well, so it’s not much of an issue overall. Still, Mina is a bit nosy when it comes to other people’s love lives, and she’s recklessly quick to make potential pairings official in her mind.

Mina acts like a lovesick middle school student at times, even pairing Shota Aizawa and Ms. Joke in her mind despite evidence to the contrary. She also doesn’t focus on schoolwork that much, earning herself bad grades, and tends to panic in battle. She ought to hit the books and save romantic daydreaming for later.

8 Inasa Yoarashi Dials It Up To 11

Shiketsu student Inasa Yoarashi, also known as Gale Force, is remarkably talented with his Whirlwind Quirk, but his personality is an eccentric one, to say the least. Inasa is wildly enthusiastic about everything, to the point of annoying and concerning everyone around him. He ought to show some restraint.

Inasa is also stubborn and a tad too competitive, as seen with his bitter rivalry with Shoto Todoroki. Like Shoto, Inasa refused to cooperate even when facing Gang Orca until the last minute, and both boys paid the price for it. This is no time for pride or petty spite.

7 Denki Kaminari Needs To Push Himself

Denki smiles and raises his hand

Denki Kaminari is an electric kid who’s fairly easy to get along with, but he could stand to focus more on schoolwork and push himself harder as a trainee hero. Denki is immature in the sense that he tends to coast, and he panics when strong opposition appears.

That, combined with Denki’s terrible grades and his distinct lecherous side, all make it clear that he needs to quit goofing off and concentrate more acutely on his duties as a U.A. student. He needs to tighten up his discipline and throw everything he’s got into his future as a Pro Hero.

6 Seiji Shishikura Is Arrogant And Misguided

Seiji's Meatball

Although Seiji Shishikura of Shiketsu High acts in a highly dignified and aloof manner, he’s only mature on the outside to maintain Shiketsu’s good image. On the inside, Seiji needs to rearrange his priorities and let go of his arrogant pride.

In particular, Seiji vainly thought that it was his duty to weed out “unworthy” students from the Provisional Hero License Exam, which is a ridiculous notion. Only an arrogant brat would go out of his way to pick off students like that, and it’s not his place to decide who’s worthy or not.

5 Yuga Aoyama Is Superficial And Obnoxious At Times

Yuga Aoyama is a support-type hero with his Navel Laser Quirk, and he loves how glittery and bright his Quirk can be. However, Yuga is deeply insecure about his actual combat abilities, and he overcompensates with arrogant, princely behavior. He thinks he’s a star.

Yuga isn’t a bully or a jerk for acting this way, and his insecurities are understandable. Still, he’s not doing any good by acting like he’s all that, and he’s just going to alienate people and make a bad impression. He’s overdue to let go of his lofty facade and learn some genuine self-esteem.

4 Mei Hatsume Needs To Learn Some Boundaries

Mei Hatsume is a skilled inventor and tinkerer, and she has assisted many trainee heroes with her devices, including Izuku Midoriya and Denki Kaminari. Mei can take pride in that, but she also lets it get to her head. She also needs to show some more restraint at times.

Mei has a bad habit of getting right in people’s faces and groping them while taking their measurements without asking first, and that’s a problem. Instead, Mei should curb her enthusiasm and act in a more dignified manner in front of her patrons and take their measurements normally — without talking their ear off in the process.

3 Neito Monoma Is Spiteful And Vain

Class 1-B student Neito Monoma is far more immature than most other students in My Hero Academia, and there is no sign that he’s working to improve his behavior. Ever since his first appearance, Neito has nursed an obnoxious and unhealthy grudge against Class 1-A, and even Itsuka Kendo can’t stand it.

Neito boasts loudly of Class 1-B’s superiority, and even when he failed an exam, he still tried to look down on Class 1-A’s students. He’s also prone to maniacal laughter at his own cruel jokes, so it falls to Itsuka to shut him up. What a brat.

2 Katsuki Bakugo Needs To Cool His Head

Katsuki Bakugo’s personality has been problematic from the very start. His list of negative character traits is shockingly long, and he’s only very slowly fixing these issues. For the most part, he acts like a hotheaded child who has everything to prove.

Bakugo is known for being stubborn, excessively proud, incredibly spiteful and defiant, and uncooperative, and he’s not afraid to simply bully or intimidate Izuku for one reason or another. He’s also quick to snap at other people, and it’s easy to get a rise out of him.

1 Minoru Mineta’s Personality Is A Disaster

The single best part to Minoru Mineta’s personality is that he figured out a clear motivation to become a Pro Hero, which is fueling his progress. He wants to impress girls and women as a Pro Hero, but at best, that’s a rather vain and silly reason to become a hero.

Minoru’s maturity is quite low, owing to a combination of his snide attitude, short temper, and worst of all, extreme lechery where girls are concerned. He has no shame or restraint in that regard, and it’s a wonder he hasn’t been kicked out of U.A. by now. He once waltzed right into Toru Hagakure’s room and pretended to “sense” her underwear, and he also tried to spy on the girls in an outdoor bath. This kid needs to grow up, fast.
