It looks like Jack Spade will be getting some color on tonight’s episode of Heels.
In a post to Twitter, series star Stephen Amell shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself with the caption, “Tonight on [Heels].” The image sees the Arrow alum sporting a crimson mask — or, for those who don’t speak pro wrestling, a bloodied face.
In professional wrestling, bleeding is typically achieved by covertly slicing one’s own forehead with a hidden razor blade — a process known as “blading” or “gigging.” In fact, some wrestlers have garnered a reputation for there willingness to blade on the regular, perhaps most notably Ric Flair. In Amell’s case, however, it appears to be fake blood — which is worth pointing out, given the fact that Amell has more than proven his willingness to put himself through pain for the sake of the show. Amell has been teasing a bloody match involving Jack Spade for some time, having shared a behind-the-scenes video of his red-soaked face back in February.
On a similar note, tonight’s episode of Heels is titled “Cheap Heat,” which refers to when a heel wrestler (i.e. a bad guy) uses low-hanging tactics to generate a negative response from the fans, such as blatantly insulting them, on the microphone or otherwise.
Heels airs Sundays on Starz.
