Relic Records are a new device for delivering lore in Monster Hunter Rise. They are scattered throughout the game and include knowledge about each area they’re found in, its monsters, and factions or people from Rise and other Monster Hunter games. However, these are all hidden, and some can be quite difficult to find.
Lore isn’t the only thing to be gained from finding these Relics. By finding all 10 in each area, players will be rewarded with decorations for their Hunter’s house by Kagero the Merchant, located in the heart of Kamura Village. The decorations for retrieving all the Relics from the Lava Caverns are Rakna-Kadaki and Aknosom statuettes. Here’s how to track them all down.
Lava Caverns Message One
Starting from the first lore message for this locale, you’ll find the first Relic not far from the Main Camp. Before heading through the crawl space to area one, there is a stone archway with pillars atop on either side. Climb up to the left one, only midway, to find the first Relic Record.
Lava Caverns Message Two
The second Relic can be easy to miss, especially if there are monsters close by. In area two, there is a lone tree that can be destroyed by monster attacks. Climb the tree and follow its southeast branch to find this Relic Record.
Lava Caverns Message Three
Relic Record three is located just south of area seven in the upper part of the mountain. The easiest way to reach it is by coming from Sub-Camp two and using a Wirebug to cross the massive gap east, which drops to the caverns below. Otherwise, you’ll be trekking your way up the mountain. Head past some Sending Sprigs, colorful bushes containing Spiribirds, to a cliffside with a large boulder in front of it. This Relic is located on a ledge just north.
Lava Caverns Message Four
This Relic Record is located in the lava-filled cavern portion north of area 13. Along the path between area 13 and 14, just before area 14, is an area where players can drop down on one side. There are some climbable pillars, and climbing up to the top of the tallest one will get you the Relic Record.
Lava Caverns Message Five
This next Relic Record isn’t far from the last one. In area 14, there is a small upper portion to the cavern that can be reached in two ways. The first requires a bit of skill with the Wirebug. There is a pillar near the entrance leading from area 13. Climb to the top and jump off, then Wirebug up to climb the ledge of the platform. The second way is to Wirebug in from the very top, outside of the caverns. Climb the mountain until near area 14, and you’ll find an opening to drop down. The ledge will be directly across and just below. Wirebug over to it; at the back of it is this Relic.
Lava Caverns Message Six
The sixth Relic Record is located south of area eight on the cliffs. There is a large platform with two levels, some Sending Sprigs and a pillar nearby. Climb up to the pillar to find this Relic Record.
Lava Caverns Message Seven
Relic Record number seven is located just north of area 12 and is very well-hidden. Head into the caverns from area 13 and drop down where the first climbable vines are. Turn to the left and look up at the stone wall right next to the lava cracked portion. Up above is a barely perceivable hidey-hole. Wirebug and climb up to this nook to get this Relic.
Lava Caverns Message Eight
This Relic is in the far-right corner on the upper level of area six. Climb up or head to the northern part of area six via Sub-Camp two. When you come across Sending Sprigs, you’re in the right place. Head south of the bushes, being careful not to slide off to the water below. Just before the drop is this Relic Record on the right by some jutting out stones.
Lava Caverns Message Nine
Relic Record number nine is just south of Sub-Camp two on the mountain. If you don’t have it yet, the Relic’s location is between areas three and nine. Head to the gap over the caverns, and along it, you should see a broken stone bridge. Under the eastern side of it is where the Relic is hiding.
Lava Caverns Message 10
The last Relic is located south of area nine inside a cave. There are two entrances: one is from area nine and the other area one. From area nine, head south where you’ll see three lavafalls and to the left of it on the wall is an entrance. From area one, climb the wall directly north and you’ll see ruins. There are southern stairs that lead right into the cave, partially hidden by a stone slab. Inside, you’ll see a broken set of stairs to nowhere. The Relic is on the left by the rubble wall.
