Black Panther has entered the prestigious league of famous figures to be honored with their own wax sculptures as Madame Tussauds New York unveiled stunning photos of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero, its latest addition.
Marvel, who made the announcement, enlisted the help of special effects and costume providers FBFX to create the wax king of Wakanda’s special apparel. Taking inspiration from one of the poster images designed for 2018’s Black Panther, the museum photographed the costumed representation above the New York City skyline to echo the picture of T’Challa surveying his kingdom.
“We worked closely with the amazing team at Madame Tussauds to bring to life the Black Panther suit that fans know and love from the Marvel Studios films,” said Brian Crosby, Creative Director for Marvel Themed Entertainment. “The detail really is stunningly accurate and we’re sure that it will be a hit with Marvel fans young and old.”
Adding to the visitor experience is a dynamic feature built into the signature Black Panther costume that has been dubbed the “vibranium effect.” The technologically advanced suit lights up in a purple glow and vibrates during the sculpture’s interactions with guests. Black Panther will be joining Marvel’s Hall of Heroes within Madame Tussauds, placing him alongside Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Iron Man and Captain Marvel.
