The latest episode of Marvel’s What If…? series features Chadwick Boseman‘s final performance as T’Challa alongside a moving dedication, touching many fans of both the character and actor.
The episode “T’Challa as Star-Lord” tells the story of the young Wakandan prince as he’s abducted by Yondu in place of Peter Quill. Inducted into the ranks of the Ravagers, T’Challa goes on to change the galaxy in what many are describing as a fitting tribute to the late Boseman who portrayed the live-action version of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Narrated by The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), What If…? invites fans of the MCU to peer into the multiverse and see what could happen to their favorite characters in parallel universes. The series marks the last time Chadwick Boseman played T’Challa, the King of Wakanda, before his tragic passing in 2020 due to colon cancer. Whereas the live-action version of T’Challa goes on to adopt the mantle of the Black Panther, What If…? features a very different version of the character.
Fans can catch the latest episode of What If…? on Disney+. “T’Challa as Star-Lord” is the second episode in the series, preceded by “Captain Carter,” which sees Agent Peggy Carter being injected by the Super Soldier serum intended for Steve Rogers.
