While it’s long been established that James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad would be rated R for “strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity,” it turns out some of that nudity is of the full-frontal male variety.
“I will say one thing before I review [The Suicide Squad] on the podcast,” Brian of Pop Culture Leftovers tweeted after attending an early screening. “It has full frontal male nudity. Why is this important? It’s a flaccid cock in a superhero movie. One small step for man kinda shit.”

The early reviews for The Suicide Squad have been strong, to say the least, as it’s currently the highest-rated film in the DC Extended Universe on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 98%. CBR‘s own review calls it “colorfully violent, hilarious, and surprisingly tragic. While it may not be a perfect film, it’s still one of the most overtly enjoyable action films to hit the big screen in some time.”
The Suicide Squad hits theaters and HBO Max Aug. 6.
