A freshly dropped teaser for MGM’s No Time to Die confirms the James Bond franchise’s 25th installment is right around the corner.
The 30-second trailer removes any doubt that an impressive stage has been set for another fast-paced, action-crammed espionage fest as Daniel Craig suits up to play the British MI6 Agent for his fifth and reputedly final time.
As the premiere of No Time to Die has experienced a series of postponements due to coronavirus (COVID-19) disruptions, a number of trailers have already been released. Originally scheduled to premiere in April 2020, No Time to Die was moved to last November and then again in April 2021.
MGM reportedly entered negotiations to debut the blockbuster film on a streaming service, an overture that was eventually quashed by EON Productions. The reasoning behind the decision to hold the release until cinemas were back in force was supposedly rooted in concerns over affecting the prestige of the James Bond brand, a notion supported by the teaser’s proud declaration that the movie will be experienced “only in theaters.” It will be the first James Bond film released by Universal Pictures, as international distribution rights were recently relinquished by Sony Pictures.
Starring Daniel Craig and directed by Cary Fukunaga, No Time to Die arrives in theaters on Oct. 8.
