Paramount+ Renews iCarly for Season 2 | CBR

Paramount+’s iCarly revival is getting a second season.

According to THR, the streamer renewed the series for Season 2 just days after it was revealed that the revival was one of Paramount+’s biggest success stories.

“We knew we were going to do a reboot of iCarly, it just took us a while to put it together,” Nickelodeon President and CEO Brian Robbins said. “Once we knew we had it going, we licensed just a season or two of iCarly to Netflix and it exploded with new kids discovering it for the first time, and fans who grew up on it rediscovered it. The demand for the new show was at such a fever pitch by the time [the new show] launched that it propelled iCarly to be, if not the most successful show on Paramount+, one of the most successful shows.”

Premiering in 2007 on Nickelodeon, iCarly centered on Carly, a teenage girl who lived with her older brother Spencer and hosted a web show with her friend Sam that was filmed by their friend Freddy. The original series ran for six seasons, ending in 2012, and the revival picks up nearly 10 years later and finds Carly, Freddy and Spencer hosting an all-new version of the web show.

iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor. New episodes drop on Paramount+ every Thursday.
