A promo for The CW’s Superman & Lois offers viewers a sneak peek at Clark Kent’s harrowing struggle with his own superpowers.
The new clip previews episode 13, “Fail Safe,” which arrives next Tuesday. In it, Clark confides in Lois and meets with Tal-Rho as he deals with the burden of keeping his extraordinary abilities under control.
“I’ve felt what it was like to let go. It felt really good,” Clark admits to Lois, who attempts to assuage his fears by telling him, “Your heart is stronger than your mind.” Receiving a radically different message from Tal-Rho, his Kryptonian half-brother, Clark listens with trepidation as the supervillain goads him by saying, “You should be a god.”
With Clark/Kal-El having recently kneeled before Tal-Rho, also known as Morgan Edge, CEO of Edge EnerCorp, his overt allegiances have shifted. The ruthless mogul has plans to use his half-brother in his mission to restore Krypton, employing him in the Eradicator, an ancient weapon whose purpose is to merge with a human body. Ending the brief video with a flourish of emotion, Tal-Rho bellows to Superman, “You are just like me!”
Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin as Superman/Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. New episodes air Tuesdays on The CW.
