Following the conclusion of Episode 6, titled “For All Time. Always.” dedicated fans would have been greeted with Season Two’s confirmation as the show’s stylish credits rolled. After catching a glimpse of Loki Laufeyson‘s TVA case file, a red stamp slapped over the page reads, “Loki will return in Season 2.”
Rumors on Loki‘s second season have bounded across the internet for a while now. Before the show had even premiered, reports indicated that a second season had already been greenlit. Production on Season Two is rumored to begin shooting in January 2022.
As for where Season Two of Loki could go, the show’s finale leaves several questions unanswered. Fans speculate that Loki is quietly setting up the MCU‘s next major villain, something which Marvel has yet to reveal in any great detail.
Loki follows everyone’s favorite God of Mischief as he attempts to survive the bureaucratic world of the Time Variance Authority, an organization dedicated to preventing anomalies in the MCU’s timeline. The series has proven a massive success for both Marvel and Disney, as critics and fans have praised the show’s witty writing, existential story and performances from Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
The first season of Loki is currently available to stream on Disney+. Fans of the series who’re desperate for more of Loki’s antics can check out The Good, The Bart and The Loki, a crossover short that sees the God of Mischief crash into The Simpsons.
