PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile released a new anti-cheating report, in which it revealed that over 3 million players were banned between June 18 and June 24 for cheating.
The report, titled the BanPan, based on PUBG‘s utilization of the pan as an in-game weapon, offered some insights as to the reasons and statistics surrounding the bans. The 3,884,690 bans, which are permanent, are cited as being mostly for character model modifications (76 percent), speed hacks (5 percent) and x-ray vision (5 percent). Other ban reasons included modifying area damage (4 percent) and auto-aim (2 percent), with the remaining 8 percent being composed of bans for unspecified cheats.
In a separate chart, the developer specified that 27 percent of bans came from Crown, 25 percent from Diamond, 14 percent from Ace, 13 percent from Platinum, 10% from bronze, 6 percent from gold, 4 percent from silver and 1 percent from Conqueror, demonstrating that cheating is an issue throughout all of PUBG‘s ranks. PUBG has an active playerbase of 400 million users across all platforms.
Developed and published by the PUBG Corporation, PlayerUnknown‘s Battlegrounds is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a free-to-play version available for mobile.
