Marvel Comics has released an official trailer for Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, the 80-plus-page Pride Month anthology celebrating the House of Ideas’ LGBTQ+ characters and creators.
“Marvel celebrates Pride Month with tales of inspiration and empowerment in Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, featuring the greatest LGBTQ+ characters and creators in comics!” the trailer’s official description reads. The trailer itself highlights the likes of America Chavez, Iceman, Hulkling, Wiccan, Black Cat, Mystique, Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean and more — including Marvel’s very first openly gay character, Northstar.
Available in comic shops now, Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 is described as a “celebratory showcase of LGBTQ+ characters and creators.” The “queer-centered one-shot” places “Marvel’s brightest LGBTQ+ stars and talent” at center stage to tell “stories of inspiration and empowerment.” Creators involved in the comic include Kieron Gillen, Olivier Coipel, Steve Orlando, Anthony Oliveira, Tini Howard, Vita Ayala, Kris Anka and Javier Garrón. Moreover, Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 explores, “the history of LGBTQ+ inclusion and storytelling at Marvel Comics, including reprints of historic LGBTQ+ moments and more.”
