10 Gon Learned Nen Alongside Zushi
Zushi was a young boy trained by Wing in the ways of Nen. Although both he and Gon aspired to master Heaven’s Arena, the latter was able to make considerably more progress than the former in a shorter span of time.
While this generated a certain degree of animosity for the fresh hunter, Zushi ultimately couldn’t hold a grudge against his fellow student solely because he was successful. As a result, their friendship was able to endure, even though Gon was destined to move onto greater things.

However, he made his students promise never to use their gifts irresponsibly. Given Gon’s final fight against Neferpitou, it’s arguable whether or not he was able to keep his word, as he unleashed his full power on a villain.

Knuckle was a loyal comrade who proved invaluable to Gon in the NGL. Not only did he spar alongside him to determine if he was prepared (at the request of Morel and Knov), he also helped Killua battle Youpi.

6 Leorio Was One Of Gon’s Oldest & Most Reliable Comrades
Gon met Leorio on a ship bound for the Hunter Exam, and the two immediately became friends. Despite his shallow, materialistic presentation, Leorio had a sincere passion for helping others, which explained why he was driven to become a doctor.
When Gon was hospitalized in the aftermath of the incident at the NGL, Leorio cursed Ging at a public conference, berating him for abandoning his son and demanding that he go to see him. He even went as far as to punch him in the face in order to get his attention.
5 Gon Helped Kurapika Through The Darkest Stages Of His Life
Kurapika was obsessed with avenging his clan and destroying the villainous Phantom Troupe. Both Gon and Killua were concerned about his mental wellbeing, vigilantly staying by his side while urging him to reconsider his untenable path.
Ultimately, Kurapika would heed their words and place a Nen condition on Chrollo instead of killing him outright. This caused a significant setback to his organization’s agenda, as they were now without a functioning leader.
4 Biscuit Helped To Hone Gon’s Skills & Prepare Him For The NGL
Biscuit was the best trainer Gon and Killua ever had, taking Wing’s lessons and expanding on them. She was responsible for helping the boys through the events of Greed Island and training them in preparation for the match against Knuckle and Shoot.
Despite her youthful appearance, she is a qualified mentor. When necessary, Biscuit can utilize her true form as a towering, muscular woman in order to decimate her enemies and defend her students.

Kite was a close associate of Ging who Gon treated as a surrogate father and mentor. He helped to guide the young boys through the NGL and ultimately gave his life so that could escape a narrow encounter against Neferpitou.
After his capture, Kite’s body was desecrated and used as a training dummy for the chimera ants to practice on. Enraged at what the villains had done to his friend, Gon enhanced his strength with a Nen condition and beat Neferpitou to death. Once he recovered in the hospital, the young hunter discovered that Kite had been reincarnated.
2 Killua Was Gon’s Closest Friend & Gave Up His Life To Adventure With Him
Killua was Gon’s closest friend throughout virtually the entire series and was willing to do anything in order to ensure his safety. His acts of loyalty ranged from murdering potential threats to abandoning his life in the Zoldyck family of assassins.

1 Gon Was Willing To Do Anything To Find Ging
Since the beginning of the series, Gon’s singular focus was to find and reunite with his father, Ging Freecss. This was in spite of the fact that the man was incredibly reluctant to see him even after he braved the rigors of Greed Island and survived the war in the NGL.
Nonetheless, Gon would eventually find him during a debate to determine the next chairman of the Hunter Association. Journeying to the top of the world together, they had a reunion that was long overdue.
