Stunt performer Marvin Ross shared a behind-the-scenes clip of a small slip and smooth recovery he had acting as the double for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on the set of Captain America: Civil War.
Ross shared the short video of the stunt on his Instagram alongside the caption which read, “Falling with style. That spot tho.” In the clip, Ross is performing a stunt from the famous airport battle during which Spider-Man made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. The stunt required Ross, dressed in the Spider-Man costume, to perform a backflip onto an airport baggage vehicle. The video shows Ross successfully doing the backflip, but his foot slips off the front of the baggage tug. He smoothly recovered by steadying himself with his hand before spinning off of the vehicle into a classic Spider-Man pose.
Ross’ small tumble in Captain America: Civil War turned out pretty well, especially compared to a stunt performed by MCU star Simu Liu on the set of his upcoming debut film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Meanwhile, fans of Spider-Man’s MCU debut are eagerly awaiting the long-sought first trailer for his upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. The official Twitter account for the film even addressed fans’ fervor for the trailer in response to a recent meme.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx as Electro. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
