As the former King of the Seven Seas, Aquaman is normally depicted as a powerful and regal member of the Justice League who has little need to rely on anything outside of of his nearly infinite resources and power. Aquaman just broke through all preconceived notions of his character in the latest issue of Justice League, when he showed up on the battlefield and came to his team’s rescue…in a battle tank.
Aquaman’s latest additional to his arsenal was impressive to say the least, and brings to light a very interesting question. If other members of his team famously have vehicles (such as the Bat-mobile and Wonder Woman’s invisible jet) what’s stopping Aquaman from having his very own tank?

After crossing over to the alternate Earth that is the home world of the new hero Naomi, Aquaman was separated from his friends and left severely disoriented. He could not locate any nearby natural bodies of water and this weakened him enough to make him lose consciousness. But Aquaman was lucky enough to found by one of the few decent people living in this brutal new world.
This man, Gondor, was kind enough to take Aquaman back to his family’s home and provide him with shelter. Aquaman was still weakened when the men encountered the powerful villain Brutus, so Gondor gave the Sea King access to his wife’s tank that proved to be effective until it was severely damaged by their opponent.
It was an inglorious end to a beautiful war machine, but it provided the Justice League with just enough time for Hippolyta to arrive and knock Brutus out. And while Aquaman may have lost his new ride it certainly sparked the conversation about whether he should use a tank more often. For someone who has never served in the military he showed a surprising amount of skill using the tank against Brutus.
This brings to light the question of whether or not Aquaman should consider using a tank or other vehicle on a more regular basis. Plenty of his teammates use vehicles, and having weaponized transportation could help offset situations like what was seen here, when he was weakened and far away from a water source.
Whether Aquaman chooses to add a vehicle to his armament or not, it was still a great delight seeing the Ocean King provide this much support to this teammates even in his weakened state. Furthermore, a weaponized vehicle like this could greater serve the hero the next time he has to face one of his recurring villains such as Ocean Master or Black Manta.
