The Akatsuki were some of the most dangerous ninja in the Naruto universe. Even separately, they were threats that were considered capable of taking down entire ninja villages if people weren’t careful. United, they were nearly unstoppable, save by some of the most powerful members of the Ninja World all working together themselves.
Of course, the Dragon Ball Z universe is a long way away from the Naruto universe. While the Akatsuki are known for destroying countries and ninja villages, Dragon Ball Z characters start at blowing up planets and going from there. Even still, there are some characters from Toriyama’s universe of intergalactic martial artists that would be better at fighting Kishimoto’s ninja than others.
10 Cell’s Ability To Regenerate From Any Injury & Come Back Stronger Makes Him Hard To Stop
The Akatsuki have some incredible destructive capabilities… but even if they could hurt Cell (who at one point was stronger than Goku), none of it matters. He can regenerate from anything they throw at him as he did against Gohan, and if they hurt him badly enough he’ll just become stronger because of it.
He’s able to use a variety of techniques from the Kamehameha to the Special Beam Cannon, and none of the Akatsuki can generate enough destructive force to completely wipe him out. He’d just keep coming back until they were exhausted of chakra.
9 Majin Buu Fights With A Ferocity Surpassing The Gods
Majin Buu was the single most dangerous being wandering the universe when he was in pure form. He was able to blow up planets without a second thought. When he came back to his normal form, he simply immediately destroyed all life on Earth just out of boredom, and it didn’t drain his energy at all.
With that, plus how hard it is to destroy him due to regeneration, by the time they found an answer for him, all the Akatsuki would be dead.
8 Frieza Can Simply Blow Up The Planet
More than likely, Frieza would have been perfectly capable of defeating the Akatsuki before he was wished back to life. But since coming back, Frieza has grown exponentially stronger, actually training to earn greater power than before.
With his Golden Frieza form, he’s capable of fighting on equal ground with Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms. But the main reason why Frieza could beat every member of the Akatsuki is that he could just blow the entire planet up, and he’d survive while they wouldn’t. He’s done it before.
7 Goku Can Use Ultra Instinct To Avoid Any Attacks
Goku is probably powerful enough to get through all of the Akatsuki just going Super Saiyan 1 or 2. But during the tournament of power, he gained the power of Ultra Instinct which allows him to dodge any attack without thinking.
During the Moro arc, he learned how to enter the Ultra Instinct form at will, granting him additional power. And most recently, Whis taught him how to use Ultra Instinct without transforming at all, which means none of the Akatsuki could even hit him, to begin with.
6 Vegeta Has The Powers Of Super Saiyan & Hakai Energy
Unlike Goku, Vegeta has had to train the hard way rather than learning something like Ultra Instinct. In the Moro arc, he was taught how to control his Ki, mastering it to become more destructive with far less effort.
More recently, he’s been training under Beerus to learn how to use Hakai energy to completely vaporize any of his opponents. Though he’s still new to it, he can generate the power at will.
5 Broly’s Rage Makes Him Nearly Untouchable
Broly is perhaps the most at risk of any character to go up against the Akatsuki, purely because he doesn’t fight with any strategy. The rage that makes him capable of going Legendary Super Saiyan is the rage that makes him susceptible to things like Genjutsu, but he could also probably use the strength of will he developed on the harsh planet he grew up on to break out of it.
Outside of that, there’s really nothing any of the Akatsuki can do to stop him, since it took two Super Saiyan gods fusing to actually defeat him. His power would simply allow him to brute force through his opponent.
4 The Grand Minister Can Manipulate Reality Itself
The Grand Minister is the most powerful of all the Angels in the Dragon Ball universe, and potentially one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse. During the manga, the Grand Minister had the power to stop two of the gods of destruction using only his fingers.
They’ve shown him manipulating reality, creating shields and items whenever he needs them, without draining his energy at all. He can even take away people’s abilities, turning the angel candidate Merus into a mortal.
3 Beerus Uses His Hakai Power To Wipe Out Races
As one of the gods of destruction, Beerus’ power has never been seen to have a limit. He was able to completely take out Super Saiyan 3 Goku in a single hit, and even when Goku reached Super Saiyan God form it only succeeded in giving him a warm-up after waking up.
With the power of Hakai energy, he can erase entire planets as he sees fit, leaving absolutely nothing left in its wake. None of the Akatsuki could even hit him, but if they did he would simply erase them all one by one.
2 Whis Possesses Powers Surpassing Even The Gods Of Destruction
As powerful as the gods of destruction might seem, Whis is even more dangerous. He was responsible for training Beerus to become a god of destruction, meaning he possesses the abilities of a god of destruction even though he doesn’t ever use them.
With his ultra instinct constantly active, he could fight all of the Akatsuki at once and never get hit, just as he managed to avoid both Goku and Vegeta at once with ease.
1 Zen-Oh Can Simply Make Them Cease To Exist
With Zen-Oh, it’s never really a matter of whether someone can win a fight against him because strength isn’t how he fights in the first place. He doesn’t fight at all, because he has the power to create and destroy as he sees fit. He can wipe out entire universes by simply pressing a button.
Existing outside of space and time itself, even when Zamasu tried to conquer an entire universe by fusing with it, Zen-Oh just erased the entire universe. There’s no member of the Akatsuki that can compete with this —they operate at planet level, he operates at a universal level.
