10 Things We Can’t Wait To See In Sailor Moon Eternal | CBR

The anime remake of Sailor Moon closely follows the manga, which has much darker tones than the original anime. The Dream Arc and its sequel, the Stars arc, went completely off the rails at some point, and a lot of major details ended up being changed to try and make the original anime more popular.

Sailor Moon Eternal adapts the manga story, and there are a lot of things that fans are excited to finally see animated. There are a lot of things that are going to be different for those who haven’t read the manga, but it will be exciting to see some major story points addressed in Eternal.

10 Helios & Chibiusa Finally Meeting

Chibiusa has always been a polarizing character to the Sailor Moon fanbase; they either love or hate her. Even so, many fans enjoy the interactions between Chibiusa and her newfound friend, Helios.

The manga version of Helios is extremely different from the anime version, so fans shouldn’t expect as much romance as was shown in the original anime.

9 Fisheye Being Brilliantly Stylish

Fisheye is a character design that has really stuck with fans over the years. Although his time spent in the series is brief, he’s still a fun character with a unique way of trying to get a look into Ami’s dreams.

The Amazon Trio, in particular, will be very interesting to see as they won’t be used as filler characters in Eternal and will have much shorter roles.

8 Seeing Mamoru’ Sailor Crystal

The Golden Crystal is a focal point of the Dream Arc and was one of the biggest changes made to the anime. In the original anime, Helios has the Golden Crystal, and it makes him a lot more powerful than his manga version.

The manga gives the Golden Crystal to Mamoru, and though Helios still helps a bit, his role works differently than it did in the show.

7 Meeting The Sailor Quartet

The Sailor Quartet honestly deserve their own spin-off sequel with Chibiusa as their leader. The Quartet has been a huge deal with fans for years, despite the fact that they weren’t really shown as Sailor Scouts in the original anime.

Fans will finally get to see the girls take their intended roles and get to see Chibiusa meet her official future squad.

6 Seeing The Kaleidoscope Wands

The weapons in the series are both eye-catching and gorgeous, and that doesn’t change in the Dream Arc. In Eternal, the Kaleidoscope wands will be on full display, and they look simply gorgeous, especially in the promo artwork.

The Kaleidoscope wand already has a replica available for sale; older fans will probably also notice how different the weapon looks in Eternal.

5 Usagi & Chibiusa Swapping Ages

Believe it or not, the age switch that happened in the original anime wasn’t filler. This was an actual part of the manga that explored Chibiusa’s obsession with becoming an adult, and it had some pretty funny dialogue.

While this is another short segment, it will be nice to see what a more mature Chibiusa will look like again. This is a bit different than the Black Lady form that was shown earlier in the series.

4 More Moon Kingdom Era Drama

Neo Queen Serenity in Sailor moon

The Dream Arc’s main baddie is linked to the Moon Kingdom and is pretty much powered by ancient drama. Learning more about the Moon Kingdom is always a joy, and fans will get to see just how petty Queen Nehelenia can be.

It turns out that there were tons of people who coveted the ancient kingdom and wanted to rule it in place of Queen Serenity and Nehelenia never managed to get over this even after the kingdom was destroyed.

3 Seeing The Scouts Power Up

One of the fun parts of watching a long magical girl series is seeing all the power-ups they get. Eternal features the girl’s next power boost and shows how each of them gets it; this time, they even get a bit of a costume makeover.

In addition, viewers will get to see all the Sailor Scouts in their princess attire, including Sailor Saturn and the Outer Scouts. This will reveal their final outfits that previously weren’t seen until the anime reached the Stars Arc.

2 Hotaru’s Rapid Growth Spurt

Hotaru’s growth spurt wasn’t seen until Sailor Stars in the original anime and was done quite differently. This time Sailor Saturn is going to be present in the dream arc, and she will finally get her long-awaited transformation scene.

Fans who were hoping to see more of baby Hotaru may be a bit disappointed, but Saturn’s awakening is a fun part of the original manga.

1 The Outer Scouts’ Brief Domestic Life

The Outer Scouts took Hotaru after she was reincarnated as a baby and settled down to live a quieter life. This included Pluto, who lives with Neptune and Uranus in an attempt to help raise the young Saturn to maturity.

Things go awry when Saturn’s growth spurt kicks in, and the Outer Scouts will find their way back to battle in order to help support Sailor Moon in her biggest fight to date.
