My Hero Academia: 5 Anime Characters High-End Could Defeat (& 5 He Couldn’t)

High-End was a nomu created by the League of Villains in order to challenge the strongest characters of the My Hero Academia universe. Spliced to include dozens of quirks, his versatility and resilience made him virtually unstoppable.

Despite being the greatest antagonist the heroes have faced in the anime so far (aside from All For One), there are many individuals from other series who are capable of taking on the nightmarish aberration. By identifying how High-End would fare under a variety of circumstances, we can better understand the true potential of nomu.

10 COULD BEAT: Annie Leonhart Can’t Defend Multiple Parts Of Her Body At Once (Attack On Titan)

Annie Leonhart, attack on titan

Annie Leonhart was formidable as the Female Titan since she had both reflexes and strength. Additionally, the villain could harden any part of her body to make it virtually impervious against damage, providing a great shield from High-End’s spear-like barbs.

However, the nomu can attack several points at once using his elongated appendages. Should he skewer her tendons and eyes simultaneously as she attempts to defend her nape or throat, Leonhart would quickly find her titan form exhausted. Without it, her death would be quick and excruciating.

9 WOULD LOSE TO: Shigaraki’s Quirk Is Perfect For Obliterating High-End’s Body (My Hero Academia)

Tomura without his face covered

Shigaraki’s “Decay” rapidly eroded whatever he touched until nothing was left. This would prove invaluable against an adversary such as High-End, whose constant rejuvenation would make for a serious challenge against most of the anime’s roster.

Additionally, Tomura has displayed enough durability to survive the nomu’s initial attack, having withstood dozens of bullets from Snipe. Should he seize one of High-End’s elongated appendages the moment he is stabbed, he’d turn the rogue science experiment to dust in moments.

8 COULD BEAT: Shizuku’s Vacuum Wouldn’t Help Her If High-End Remains Mobile (Hunter X Hunter)

In theory, Shizuku’s vacuum should be useful against High-End since it can swallow and consume anything – infinitely regenerating nomu included. However, its suction is limited and struggles to sweep opponents off their feet, as demonstrated through her battle against Pike.

If High-End stays aerial and bombards the Phantom Troupe member with serrated spears, he’d safely be able to rip her apart without risking becoming her Nen ability’s next meal. Even if she manages to seize his appendage and begin sucking him in, High-End would only need to disembowel her to prevent an imminent death.

7 WOULD LOSE TO: Escanor’s Cruel Sun Is Even Stronger Than Endeavor’s Hell Spider (Seven Deadly Sins)

Every aspect of Escanor is superior to Endeavor, who in turn defeated High-End by himself. He is durable enough to withstand a supercharged attack from Galand (who destroyed entire towns in seconds) and strong enough to evaporate one of Liones’ largest lakes with a single attack.

Considering that the Lion Sin’s “Cruel Sun” is specifically tailored for incineration, he’d fulfill the requirements necessary to destroy High-End on a molecular level. Given his fearsome durability, the nomu wouldn’t be able to touch him even if he remained completely still.

6 COULD BEAT: Sasori’s Poisons Are Only Useful Against Human Targets (Naruto)

Sasori Third Kazekage puppet

Sasori’s arsenal included buzz-saws, flamethrowers, poisons, and the Iron Sand of the Third Kazekage. Unfortunately, none of them would be particularly useful against High-End since they’d fail to obliterate his body or even significantly damage it.

Considering that his nomu physiology would protect him from the Akatsuki member’s venom, High-End would safely be able to ignore Sasori’s secondary puppets as he went about ripping the villain apart. The second his barbed appendage found the ninja’s heart, the fight would be over.

5 WOULD LOSE TO: Ace Commands Intense Heat & Has An Untouchable Body (One Piece)

Ace, One Piece

Ace’s devil fruit was among the strongest of the series, capable of decimating Baroque Works armadas and even engulfing an entire island in fire. Considering these feats alone surpass Endeavor (who was only able to obliterate skyscrapers and create a single column of flames at his peak), it follows that they’re sufficient to defeat High-End.

Additionally, his status as a Logia user entails that the nomu couldn’t harm him since he could convert his own body into intangible fire.

4 COULD BEAT: Alexander Anderson’s Holy Weapons Lack Destructive Caliber (Hellsing)

Alexander Anderson’s holy weapons may be effective against vampires and other similar monsters, but High-End is a product of science. This entails that the paladin’s usually potent arsenal wouldn’t deter the nomu as effectively as it did Alucard.

Though his enhanced strength and healing factor would allow him to prolong the fight, the Iscariot agent cannot regenerate endlessly like his opponent does. Therefore, High-End would ultimately win a battle of attrition, wearing Anderson out until he can no longer mend his wounds.

3 WOULD LOSE TO: Coyote Starrk Can Decimate High-End With Heavy Caliber Ceros (Bleach)

Coyote Starrk was the strongest member of Aizen’s Espada after absorbing the spiritual energy of Lillynete Gingerbuck. He was capable of launching dozens of ceros in seconds, each of which was powerful enough to create small craters from their impact.

Though his Hierro may not be notably impressive and is vulnerable to High-End’s attacks, he can overwhelm the villain with gunfire of such magnitude that he’d never be forced to fight defensively. Considering that he can fly, the nomu would never escape his sights.

2 COULD BEAT: DIO Would Be Helpless Even With His Time-Stopping Ability (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Dio from JoJo

DIO’s “The World” Stand allows him to stop time between five and nine seconds depending on whether or not he has Joestar blood. It was strong enough to rip through his opponents in a single punch and precise enough to keep up with Star Platinum (who in turn was capable of catching bullets).

Though the vampire might be able to inflict a reasonable amount of harm against High-End with the window he’s provided, his blunt attacks would fail to destroy him on a molecular level. After the nomu recovered, he’d only need to spear the vampire through the skull a single time for a decisive victory.

1 WOULD LOSE TO: Roy Mustang Has Disintegrated Regenerating Opponents Before (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Though Roy Mustang may not meet Endeavor’s caliber, he can unleash consistent explosions without overheating himself. Additionally, he has used his alchemy to defeat regenerating villains on two separate occasions (via his victory over Lust and Envy).

Should he apply constant pressure against High-End and continuously connect explosions against him, the nomu would gradually be reduced to dust without ever having an opportunity to fight back.
