The first official poster for Netflix’s Sweet Tooth series debuted ahead of the trailer.
DC Comics released the poster on its Facebook page, which features the human/deer hybrid Gus (Christian Convery) and his protector Tommy Jeppard (Nonso Anozie). “The end of our world is the beginning of his,” the poster’s official tagline reads. According to DC, a new Sweet Tooth trailer will debut May 17.
The first official trailer for Sweet Tooth, based on the Vertigo comic series by Jeff Lemire, revealed a world where human/animal hybrids emerged in the wake of a cataclysmic event called “The Great Crumble.” Gus and Jeppard meet each other at the series’ beginning and embark on a journey to discover Gus’ origins and the events that led to the Great Crumble. Arrow writer Beth Schwartz will serve as the series’ co-showrunner. Robert Downey Jr. will produce the series with his wife Susan under their Team Downey banner.

“Sweet Tooth is a new kind of dystopian story, it’s very lush and hopeful. We want people to come into this world where there’s beauty and hope and adventure. This is a sweeping story — we ride on trains, climb mountaintops, run through forests,” said director, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner Jim Mickle. “This is a show about what makes a family, what home really means and why it’s important to keep faith in humanity.”
Directed and co-written by Jim Mickle, Sweet Tooth stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar and Will Forte and James Brolin. The series arrives on Netflix June 4.
