One of the main aspects of the Jupiter’s Legacy comic was the rivalry between George/Skyfox and Walt/Brainwave. Walt hated George for his bullying and also, because it seemed like Utopian/Sheldon liked George better as a brother. This all led to Walt using mind control to steal George’s girl in the prequel, Jupiter’s Circle, angering Skyfox right after he returned to the team and saved them from another dimension.
This transitioned Skyfox into a full-fledged villain, waiting for his chance at revenge. However, as much as this rivalry created the franchise’s biggest death, it was totally wasted.

Skyfox was found by the Utopian’s daughter, Chloe, and his son, Hutch, as they led a rebellion in issue #4 of the second volume of Jupiter’s Legacy. They wanted to end the fascist regime Walt and Chloe’s brother, Brandon, were leading after killing her parents which led to them seeking out George.
George, however, wanted to be left alone as he felt the world deserved its fate for not backing him years ago when he tried to rebel. However, his grandson Jason’s scathing words about him being a coward sank deep.
This resulted in George eventually teleporting into the battle. He knocked Walt down, evoking memories of when they fell out decades ago. But rather than rehashing their previous fight that had George pummeling Walt using earplugs to block his psychic powers, Walt laughs off Skyfox’s assault and sets him on fire using his pyrokinesis.
He laughs about George being too old but still, Skyfox should have had weapons and fail safes in place. Additionally, Walt normally used telekinesis and mental illusions to trap people in fake worlds, so doing this would have made more sense. Burning up George feels random and underwhelming, and sucked the life out of what should have been an epic rematch.
It’s a disappointing end to a grudge match readers waited a while to see, and it was falsely believed that Repro (who stole psychic powers from Walt’s daughter, Raikou) did this and tricked Walt into thinking he won. This was a disappointing victory that didn’t measure up to the anticipation of the rematch. George didn’t get a chance to avenge his girl or Sheldon, making this fight laughable at best.
