Multiple F9 stars have listed Matt Damon as their dream pick actor to add to the Fast & Furious franchise.
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, who plays Tej Parker in The Fast Saga, became the latest one to do so during his appearance on Entertainment Weekly‘s BINGE: The Fast Saga podcast. When asked which actor he would add to series, Bridges answered “I’ve told people before, I want Matt Damon in the frame.” As it turned out, his longtime Fast & Furious costars Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson had given the same answer during their own appearances on the podcast.

No stranger to franchises, Damon played the amnesiac government assassin-turned rogue agent Jason Bourne in the Bourne movies, in addition to portraying the pickpocket/con artist Linus Caldwell in Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy. He’s currently reprising his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as “Actor Loki” for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love & Thunder, which is filming in Australia.
While it remains to be seen if The Fast Saga adds any new big-name actors for its final two central films, F9‘s cast and crew have already teased the idea of bringing back fan-favorites from earlier installments. Most recently, Vin Diesel refused to rule out the possibility of Eva Mendes making her long-awaited return as Monica Fuentes in either Fast & Furious 10 or 11.”Let’s just say, the fact that you guys know that the studio is saying, ‘We can’t cover all this ground that needs to be covered in just one movie.’ You can only imagine what is to come,” he said.
The synopsis for F9 reads,
Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.
Directed by Justin Lin, F9 stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron. The film arrives in theaters June 25.
