Boruto follows the next generation of shinobi as they find their own path in the post-war ninja world. Although they live in a time of peace, there are those that still dream of becoming powerful shinobi. Some have already mastered their skills, while others continue training to become stronger.
The younger generation has been taught well by their predecessors. There are many powerful shinobi to look up to and emulate. Some characters don’t even realize their own strength at times, while others are fully confident in their abilities. Over the course of the Boruto series, there have been many impressive displays of strength from characters, both large and small.
10 When Himawari Knocks Out Naruto & Kurama
Himawari accidentally activates her Byakugan when she and Boruto fight over a stuffed animal. The fight ends with the animal’s head being ripped off and Himawari going on a rampage with her newly awakened power.
Himawari becomes scarily strong when her Byakugan activates. Boruto flees from Himawari and Naruto gets punched in the stomach in the process. Himawari hits Naruto so hard that it knocks him and Kurama out cold for the rest of the day.
9 When Sarada Defeats Her Opponent In The Chunin Exams
Sarada is a very capable kunoichi. She inherits the Sharingan from her father and power from her mother. During the Chunin Exams, Sarada’s confidence in her abilities shines through.
Sarada faces off against an opponent from the Hidden Cloud village. She tells her friends she will beat her opponent in three seconds. True to her word, Sarada lands a punch within three seconds and sends her battle partner flying into the wall.
8 When Naruto Protects Everyone From The Otsutsuki
When Momoshiki and Kinshiki show up at the Chunin Exams, Naruto jumps into action to protect the people of Konoha. The Otsutsuki launch an attack and Naruto, using Kurama mode, shields everyone from danger.
The attack leaves him depleted and he collapses, allowing the Otsutsuki to take him. However, he successfully protects everyone and minimizes any further damage from the Otsutsuki attack. This is the first time Boruto is finally able to see his dad’s true power and strength.
7 When Ohnoki Defeats Ku
After his grandson dies, Ohnoki wishes to create a world where young lives are no longer lost. To accomplish this dream, he creates artificial beings to fight in the place of humans. Lord Ku is one of Ohnoki’s creations.
When Ku develops a twisted will of his own, Ohnoki realizes that he must stop him before he hurts anyone. Though Ohnoki is weak and his health is failing, he summons the strength to use his Atomic Dismantling jutsu to defeat Ku once and for all.
6 When Mitsuki Uses Sage Mode To Protect Boruto & Sarada
Team 7 faces Deepa to prevent him from obtaining the Hashirama Cell. During the fight, Sarada and Boruto are injured. Although Orochimaru tells Mitsuki to avoid using his Sage Mode, he wants to protect Boruto and Sarada.
Deepa tries to kill Boruto while he is down, but Mitsuki activates his Sage Mode and retrieves Boruto before Deepa can land a hit. He attacks Deepa using his Sage Mode powers, then retreats and gets Boruto and Sarada to safety. The power takes a toll on his body and causes irreversible damage to his organs.
5 When Shinki & Team Shikadai Face-Off Against Deepa
Deepa is sent to the Land of Wind, by Victor, to retrieve an important item. Team Shikadai and Team Shinki are also sent to the same location to retrieve an Otsutsuki puppet. The young teams reach the puppet before Deepa and when they refuse to turn it over to him, a fight ensues.
Deepa uses his carbon stones to rain down terror on Team Shikadai and Team Shinki. Shinki uses his Iron Sand to create a wall to protect both teams. Although Deepa eventually breaks through the iron wall, he is impressed by Shinki’s abilities.
4 When Jugo Pummels Tosaka
Tosaka, the creepy bird scientist, purposely infects birds with Orochimaru’s curse mark. He studies the curse mark in an attempt to harness its power. He successfully develops a tool that utilizes the curse mark powers and uses it to transform himself into a powerful being.
To test his new powers, Tosaka wants to fight Jugo. He injects Jugo with a serum that accelerates his curse mark’s development. Jugo transforms and pummels Tosaka within seconds. Then he absorbs his curse mark, leaving Tosaka a withered hull.
3 When Mugino Holds On To Ao To Let Team 7 Escape
Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki are given a mission to find Konohamaru and Mugino when they don’t return from the airship crash site. When they find Konohamaru and Mugino, they are exhausted and injured. Soon after, Ao discovers them.
Ao is tasked with eliminating Team 7 because they know about the vessel that was on the crashed airship. He attacks using his scientific ninja tools and his modified body that is equipped with weapons. Mugino grabs Ao and even though Ao stabs him through his body with a powerful weapon, Mugino musters enough strength to hold on to Ao. Mugino causes the cave around them to collapse, allowing the others to escape.
2 When Konohamaru Survives Being Burned Alive
After Boruto defeats Ao, Koji Kashin shows up to finish Team 7 off. They’ve learned about the vessel and have to be eliminated. Koji has the power to summon toads and uses one to set Konohamaru on fire.
He tells Konohamaru that the flames cannot be extinguished. Team 7 has to watch helplessly as the flames envelope Konohamaru. As he screams in agony, Boruto activates his Karma mark and absorbs the flames. Miraculously, Konohamaru survives.
1 When Orochimaru Turns Victor’s Secretary To Dust
As Mugino and Konohamaru are trying to escape Victor’s research lab with an injured Feudal Lord, Victor’s secretary shows up. She is determined to stop Konohamaru and Mugino and lunges at them with a kunai knife.
Her knife is deflected by a mysterious robed person who suddenly appears. She tells the person to move and then with a few flashes of light she is completely obliterated. The robed hero is none other than Orochimaru. He didn’t even move and turned her to dust in an instant.
