AEW President Tony Khan said in November 2020 that the promotion wouldn’t be rushing things when returning to the road. With WrestleMania taking place in front of fans, the time might be growing near, as there are now rumors that AEW might be ready to hit the road again soon. However, one wrestler is not excited about it at all.
In an exclusive interview with CBR, MJF said he isn’t looking forward to touring again and doesn’t want to go back on the road. “What people don’t realize is everybody has been calling this thing a pandemic. I’ve been calling it a vacation,” he explained. “I don’t have to look at these disgusting grotesque monsters in the crowd anymore. I’m in my safe space at Daly’s Place. I’m elated. I’m happy.”
AEW has had fans back in attendance for a few months now, but they sit in the back of Daly’s Place, watching from the highrise stands. Meanwhile, it’s the wrestlers standing around the ring — something that AEW originated and WWE attempted for a short time before creating its Thunderdome structure.
“Once we get going on the road. I’m going to be miserable again, cuz I’m gonna have to look at all these disgusting poors,” MJF continued. “You think I want to look at all these disgusting poors. No, but whatever. It is what it is, we got a vaccine now everybody’s taking it, you know, and I’m stuck. Now, I got to deal with these people. And it is what it is. I’m not happy about it.”
