The Hellfire Gala has promised to be one of the biggest events in the X-Men‘s history, and a new trailer promises that the event will have a massive impact on the Marvel Universe, as well as a fan-favorite X-Man.
Marvel Comics released the official trailer for the Hellfire Gala on YouTube, which spotlights the mutant heroes in their snazzy new outfits. The trailer reveals that other Marvel heroes including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four will attend the event, which will unveil the newest team of X-Men. It hints at another announcement “that’s being kept secret,” while focusing on Storm. The trailer ends with a new piece of artwork by Lenil Francis Yu, featuring multiple X-Men including Storm and Cyclops.
A new status quo has been teased for Storm, which will be fully explored in Marauders #20. Storm was previously infected with a techno-organic virus in Giant-Size X-Men that threatened to kill her until she was cured with the help of Fantomex. She also helped the Marauders defend Madripoor’s Lowtown district from the Homines Verendi organization.
The Hellfire Gala storyline will run throughout all of the X-Men titles and includes the Planet Size X-Men one-shot. The new team of X-Men will headline their own series in July, from writer Gerry Duggan and artist Pepe Larraz.
