Legends of Tomorrow Gets Gross With ‘Meat: The Legends’ Promo

Following its Season 6 premiere, the promo for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s next episode will see the Legends face off against alien-contaminated meat of the non-McDonald’s kind.

The teaser for “Meat: The Legends” opens with Ava explaining their new strategy for locating Sara Lance’s whereabouts: “Find the alien and get it to tell us where Sara is.” This ends up taking them to a fast-food restaurant in San Bernardino named Big Bang Burger, with new Legend Esperanza Cruz (i.e. Spooner, played by Lisseth Chavez) sensing a nearby alien presence that’s revealed to be the “sauce” going into every burger, causing them to engage in feral, zombie-like behavior for more food. Showcasing clips of the Legends working undercover as employees and knocking crazed customers out with patty meat, it ends with Zari being grossed out at the revelation that they’re “serving alien goo.”

Where previous seasons of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow saw the team fight magical creatures and resurrected historical figures from Hell, Season 6 has shifted the focus to extraterrestrial foes. Picking up right after Season 5’s final moments in 1977 London, it sees the Legends discover that Sara was abducted by aliens the night before, courtesy of video footage provided by David Bowie. This forces them to ask Spooner, a paranoid recluse who was presumably captured by aliens as a child, for help in tracking their captain down, while Sara discovers that one of her abductors is none other than Time Bureau member Gary, who was secretly an alien the whole time.

Season 6, Episode 1 ended with Sara and Gary trying to make it back to Earth by kicking Gary’s superior Kayla (and his fiancé) out an airlock, inadvertently releasing a number of cryogenic alien capsules across the time stream. The recent Legends of Tomorrow trailer teased Ava and the Legends fighting these aliens as they cause weird havoc on Earth, which not only feature more scenes from “Meat: The Legends,” but also an alien robot hosting a The Voice-style reality show and both John Constantine and Astra Logue getting animated.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 premieres Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
