My Hero Academia: 10 Most Respected Students, Ranked | CBR

My Hero Academia depicts a world where talented boys and girls can get enrolled at official heroics schools to become superheroes someday. It takes three years of rigorous training and testing to become a pro hero, and some students at the U.A. school and its rival are more powerful and respected than others.

Why might a student be respected? Often, a student’s stellar personality and maturity can endear them to their classmates, and sheer talent and power can also earn the respect of fellow classmates. In fact, some students are greatly respected by their peers, even if they get teased sometimes in daily life.

10 Tsuyu Asui, The Frog Girl

Although Tsuyu Asui isn’t an incredibly powerful fighter, she is well-respected for other reasons. For one thing, Tsuyu has a calm and mature personality that makes her easy to like and get along with, and she is a bit like a big sister figure at times.

What is more, Tsuyu is adept at thinking on her feet and formulating battle strategies on the fly, and her classmates quickly realized that this is something worth respecting. Tsuyu is slowly but surely climbing the ranks, and everyone has taken notice.

9 Tenya Iida, Class 1-A’s Rep

Tenya Iida is a runner hero with a talent for academics, and his classmates voted him as class rep for a good reason. Tenya is the younger of two brothers at home, but in class, he’s more like an oldest brother instead.

Often, Tenya gets gently teased for being so uptight in his daily life, but his classmates all trust and respect him as their class rep, and they all followed along when he coached them at the school pool during summer. Clearly, Tenya’s classmates think highly of him, even if they don’t often admit it.

8 Izuku Midoriya, All Might’s Successor

Izuku Midoriya is training hard to master the One For All Quirk, and he is quickly proving himself a devastating melee fighter and tactician. His classmates are certainly taking note of this, with Ochaco Uraraka being a big fan of his while Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo acknowledge him as a worthy rival.

Izuku is winning over the trust and respect of his classmates, but alas, his most incredible victories took place while no one else was watching, so Izuku’s reputation is weaker than it should be. For example, no one was there to see him defeat the villain Muscular, nor do they know that Izukud defeated Gentle Criminal and La Brava single-handedly.

7 Saiko Intelli, The Tactician Hero

Saiko Intelli appeared for just one battle during Season 3 of the anime, but that single event made it clear that her classmates thought highly of her. Saiko commanded a large squad of classmates in battle against a team of U.A. students, and Saiko’s classmates followed her orders without question.

Clearly, Saiko’s classmates respect her abilities and take her quite seriously, and Saiko is a capable leader indeed. She got a bit sloppy against Tsuyu’s team, certainly, but at least she has won over all her classmates. Perhaps Saiko will run her own hero agency someday.

6 Momo Yaoyorozu, The High-IQ Girl

During the election for class 1-A’s class rep position, Momo Yaoyorozu received two votes, more than she expected. Momo went on to become Tenya Iida’s second in command, and that’s just the start. She has earned the respect of everyone in class 1-A by now.

Momo had long since inspired her classmates with her sky-high IQ and book smarts, and she is often admired for her high-class upbringing and her good looks. She also commands respect with her remarkable support Quirk, Creation. Momo is very easy to like.

5 Tamaki Amajiki, AKA Suneater

Tamaki isolating himself

Tamaki Amajiki makes “you are what you eat” literal, and his firepower is simply astonishing in a fight. Thus, Tamaki has earned a spot in U.A.’s famed “big three,” but he is mainly respected by reputation. He is terribly shy in person and suffers from self-doubt.

Tamaki doesn’t mind being famed for his big three status, but he also made a weak impression when he visited class 1-A in person, and he may have been a letdown for some of class 1-A’s students. Still, his status as a big three member can make up for that, and by now, Tamaki is putting himself in the spotlight for real. His fame can only grow from here.

4 Itsuka Kendo, Class 1-B’s Rep

Itsuka Kendo has the same position in class 1-B that Tenya Iida has in class 1-A, and she commands even more respect than her class 1-A counterpart. Itsuka Kendo’s Big Fist ability is merely mediocre, but that’s not the only reason people like her.

Primarily, Itsuka is deeply respected and admired as being a “big sister” figure to all her classmates, empowering and inspiring them with her presence and her combat abilities. And she’s the only one who can keep the rambunctious Neito Monoma under control. No one dares cross Itsuka, which Momo’s team learned that the hard way during the joint training arc.

3 Shoto Todoroki, The Ice & Fire Boy

Few U.A. students are as wildly talented as Shoto Todoroki is, though these natural talents came at a cost in Shoto’s childhood. Despite Shoto’s personal baggage, though, he commands a great deal of respect among all his classmates, and Inasa Yoarashi of Shiketsu High also think highly of him.

Shoto can easily defeat just about any foe with his ice and/or fire abilities, and everyone knows better than to underestimate what Shoto can do. It helps that he also gets good grades and is popular among the girls, bolstering his reputation even more.

2 Nejire Hado, Master Of Shockwaves

The second member of the big three, Nejire Hado made a bizarre impression when she first appeared before class 1-A, but that does little to damage her reputation. Nejire is widely acknowledged and respected as a big three member, and Ochaco and Tsuyu have seen first-hand what this powerhouse student can do.

Nejire is easy to get along with, and no doubt she has a lot of friends at U.A. She also entered and won the U.A. school festival beauty pageant, based on both her naturally good looks and her sunny disposition. Her stock simply keeps rising.

1 Mirio Togata, AKA Lemillion

No student in Japan has a bigger reputation than Mirio Togata, the final member of U.A.’s big three. Mirio, like Nejire, has a warm and charming personality that makes him easy to like, and he has a strong sense of responsibility that endears him to classmates and adults alike.

Mirio’s combat prowess is the biggest factor in his reputation, and his Permeation ability, physical strength, and combat intuition combine to make an incredible package that even pro heroes must take note of. Mirio is deeply respected and admired for all this and more, and he’ll hit the ground running once he graduates and becomes a pro.
