The newest character joining the roster of Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Eustace is a soldier of Society, an organization that hunts primal beasts that threaten the peace. Unlike other Society members, Eustace prefers to work alone, finding the silence as his trusty companion.
Eustace is the first character in the game to wield a rifle, and he uses it with hushed efficiency. In addition to his rifle, Eustace also employs powerful grenades, which allows him to continually pressure opponents who are knocked down. Players who enjoy zoning or set-play will find themselves right at home with Eustace.

Unique Action
“Stand in Line” is Eustace’s Unique Action. Upon performing this move, Eustace will rush forward to the opponent and strike them with the electrified portion of the rifle barrel. Pressing the Unique Action button again will fire a shot from the gun, launching the opponent backward. The shot can be delayed by holding the button and could catch button-mashing opponents off guard.
Special Moves
One of the most quintessential moves in Eustace’s arsenal is “Rat Race.” By inputting f-d-df-, Eustace tosses a grenade at the opponent. Depending on the strength of the button, the grenade will either fall right in front of Eustace or bounce nearly full screen. The Heavy version is unique as it will actually stick to the opponent on contact (even on block). The grenade will stay on the opponent for a little while but will not detonate on its own. Eustace must manually detonate the explosive by hitting the opponent with certain moves, or it will detonate on hit or block. On hit, the explosion will last long enough for Eustace to get a combo extension, while detonating on block gives Eustace massive frame advantage, allowing him to continue his pressure.
“Flamek Thunder” is Eustace’s standard projectile, which is performed with a charge input. The L version travels slowly while the M version travels faster. The H version has multiple hits and is capable of beating out other projectiles. These shots are also capable of setting off EX Rat Race.
“Slow Kill” is Eustace’s flashy backwards shot. By performing Guile’s Flash Kick input, Eustace fires an electric orb upwards. These projectiles are a good anti-air tool as they cover a lot of space above Eustace. The H version fires two shots that cover more ground. All versions can set off EX Rat Race.
With “Close Combat,” Eustace rushes forward for a CQC attack. The L follow-up is a gauntlet flashbang that is suitable for ending combos with. If it detonates EX Rat Race, it’s also highly advantageous. The M follow-up is a knife sweep that must be blocked low. The H version is Eustace’s version of a Shoryuken. If it’s blocked, it leaves Eustace horribly exposed, so don’t use it carelessly. Finally, the Unique Action follow-up makes Eustace jump backwards and fire three shots at the opponent. It takes a while to come out, so wary opponents might try and grab Eustace out of it.
Skybound Arts
Despite being a professional, Eustace has some pretty flashy moves during his Skybound arts. His first Skybound Art, “Acidrage Howl,” is a rushing knife combo attack that ends with a massive lighting shot. It’s invulnerable on start-up and could be used well as a reversal.
Eustace’s Super Skybound Art is “Dead End Fall.” The initial attack is an upwards laser beam, so it’ll miss opponents who are farther away. If performed close enough to the opponent, an additional cinematic will play where Eustace summons thunder from the skies to smite his foes.
