The “Justice is Gray” Edition of Zack Snyder’s Justice League will screen in select cities July 2021 to raise money for charity.
Snyder announced the three IMAX screenings of the black-and-white version of Justice League at Justice Con’s Saturday panel. The director’s preferred version of the four-hour film will screen for one night only in New York City, Los Angeles and Austin on July 19 at 6 p.m. local time. 75 pairs of tickets are being raffled off for the event, with all proceeds going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Along with this announcement, Snyder also shared a link to the raffle on Twitter.
“I’m excited for you guys to get a chance to see this crazy movie on the big screen. And by ‘big screen,’ I mean absolutely, ridiculously big screen,” Snyder said at the panel. “I’ve seen the movie at Universal CityWalk, and it is ridiculously insane.” He also shared a the information on Twitter,
Snyder has been actively raising money for the AFSP, previously hosting a charity auction earlier this month in which he gave fans the opportunity to win 14 black-and-white character portraits of the Justice League cast. Each portrait was taken and signed by Snyder himself. The AFSP is a voluntary health organization that advocates for, empowers and educates those affected by suicide. The auctions are set to end April 22.
The “Justice is Gray” version of the Snyder Cut is now available on HBO Max. Snyder has previously stated that he intended for the black-and-white version to be seen in IMAX, saying that was his “ideal version of the movie.” He said, “That to me is the most fan-centric, most pure, most Justice League experience.”
