With Deadpool 3 officially confirmed at Marvel Studios, there have been a lot of questions just how Wade Wilson is going to make his grand entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While theories abound about just where the Merc With a Mouth will first appear, we’ve got one of our own, and it involves Peter Parker/Spider-Man. In this new video, we’re going to break down why we think Deadpool will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home to help Peter.
At this time, it’s pretty clear that the multiverse is going to play some role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Jamie Foxx is currently set to reprise his role as Max Dillon/Electro, whom he played in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, while Alfred Molina is returning as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus for the first time since 2004’s Spider-Man 2. As such, it seems entirely reasonable to think that a character as closely connected to Spider-Man as Deadpool could also make an appearance.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it’s not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there’s a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there’s not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could go in the future, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
