The Freak Brothers animated adaptation has added several more voices to the all-star cast.
According to Deadline, Andrea Savage and La La Anthony have joined the cast of the animated adaptation as Harper, who is described as a tech-savvy badass who rules her home, and her idealistic lawyer sister Gretchen. They’re joined by fellow newcomers ScHoolboy Q and Phil LaMarr.
“I have been into cartoons and animation for as long as I can remember and have dreamed of having the opportunity to voice an animated series,” Anthony said. “And to share the screen with some of the greatest comedians of our time is amazing. I’m excited to be a part of this project and can’t wait for fans to see the show.”

The new cast members join Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, Pete Davidson and Tiffany Haddish as Freewheelin’ Franklin Freek, Fat Freddy Freekowtski, Phineas T. Phreakers and Kitty, respectively. Adam Devine and Blake Anderson have been set to voice weed-loving duo Chuck and Charlie.
The Freak Brothers animated series was originally announced in May 2020 with a YouTube mini-episode. The show is based on the 1960s Fabulous Freak Brothers comic by Gilbert Shelton, which centers on a trio of stoners who travel 50 years into the future after smoking a magical strain of marijuana.
In addition to the casting news, it was announced that Lionsgate has teamed up with IP holder WTG Enterprises to executive produce animated adaptation, while also securing global rights. “We’re thrilled to partner with some of the best writers and producers in adult animation and the perfect cast to recapture the subversive underground vibe of the original ’60s comic series with characters and story lines that are just as funny, relevant and watchable today,” Lionsgate President Jim Packer said. “Just as the comics resonated with readers around the world, audiences will want to tune in to the wild, boundary-pushing adventures of this group of remarkably human misfits time after time.”
The Freak Brothers stars Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish, Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Andrea Savage, La La Anthony, ScHoolboy Q and Phil LaMarr. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.
