A recently conducted poll asked whether or not actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson should run for president, with a notable number of poll-takers responding positively. The actor himself has now reacted to the numbers.
The poll, which was conducted by Pipslay, found that 46 percent of Americans would support Johnson were he to run for president. The action star stated on social media, “Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club – but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people.”

The poll asked about other celebrities running for office, including Oprah Winfrey, who received positive responses from 27 percent; Angelina Jolie with 30 percent and Tom Hanks with support from 22 percent. The poll also found that 63 percent felt celebrities would “make good politicians” if they had “political aptitude” or “the right team in place.”
Johnson has hinted in the past that he would be interested in running for president in 2023. In an interview with USA Today, the Jumanji star explained, “I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. So I would wait and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse and my ear to the ground.”
