Since the latest episode of The Falcon and Winter Soldier released last Friday, fans have speculated the nature of the relationship between Sharon Carter / Agent 13 and Steve Rogers / Captain America. The former SHIELD agent’s demeanor has significantly changed from that of a hero working side by side with the Avengers to someone who might be embracing Madripoor’s criminal culture as an art thief.
Sharon was last seen in Captain America: Civil War, where the former spy helped Sam Wilson, Bucky Barners and Steve retrieve their gear in order to combat the opposing Avengers and Zemo, meaning she was breaking the Sokovia Accords. However, despite her current hardships and the role he played in it, she is not specifically angry at Captain America. “I think it’s more anger at the establishment and the government,” she told TheWrap.

“She sacrificed a lot and went on the run, but I think that like the punishment isn’t necessarily appropriate for it. It doesn’t really fit the crime here,” she continued. “All of the other people have been pardoned and so you see she’s got a chip on her shoulder. It was important that we address that and not kind of like skim by it as if nothing ever happened. And that was something that we talked about very early on when they talked about bringing Sharon back. It was like, okay, that would be great. But how? And where’s she been, what has she been up to?”
