Funimation‘s anime lineup for spring 2021 has been revealed.
Among the upcoming shows are Fruits Basket: The Final Season and The World Ends With You The Animation. New anime series include Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, Megalobox 2: Nomad, Mars Red and Full Dive.
Mars Red focuses on Code Zero, a government task force formed by vampires which had previously undertook research and intelligence operations. At the beginning of the series, they are reassigned to capturing and recruiting (or destroying) other vampires. The World Ends With You The Animation is based on the Square Enix game of the same name, and dropped a trailer last year. Full Dive centers on Hiroshi Yūki, who ends up being sucked into the Kiwame Quest game and completing tasks for several female characters. It will premiere this month alongside Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, which is based on the light novel series of the same name.
In addition to new series, Funimation will also host the return of classic anime including My Hero Academia and One Piece. It will hold a virtual event for the premiere of the latter’s 971st episode, in conjunction with Toei. The event will take place on April 24.
