Nobody Is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes | CBR

The reviews are in and the action thriller Nobody — starring Bob Odenkirk of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame — is a hit with both audiences and critics.

Per Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a “Certified Fresh” score of 80% on the Tomatometer, with 95% of moviegoers say they liked it. The critic’s consensus reads, “Nobody doesn’t break any new ground for the genre, but this viscerally violent thriller smashes, shatters and destroys plenty of other things — all while proving Bob Odenkirk has what it takes to be an action star.” The film’s official Twitter account celebrated its success, saying, “Fresh as f$ck for a certified Nobody.”

Directed by Ilya Naishuller of Hardcore Henry and written by Derek Kolstad of the John Wick movies, Nobody stars Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a seemingly ordinary suburban dad who, after being attacked during a home invasion, reveals his hidden past as a highly-efficient former government assassin and accidentally makes enemies with a local crime kingpin along the way.

CBR’s Josh Bell offered praise for the film, saying, “Odenkirk makes it work, elevating it to something beyond just a throwaway revenge movie with a paper-thin plot. Naishuller brings just enough visual flair to keep the action scenes interesting (and doesn’t go for the gimmickry that he brought to Hardcore Henry), and the supporting players add some flavor to their basic character types.”

Starring Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Alexey Serebryakov, Christopher Lloyd and RZA, Nobody is currently in theaters nationwide.
