American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy shared a new casting announcement for the show’s upcoming season — that’s set to focus equally on the terrors of sea and sand.
“Double Feature,” Season 10 of AHS, will feature a role portrayed by supermodel Kaia Gerber, as confirmed by Murphy’s Instagram. The creator posted the news with the caption, “Very excited to announce that Kaia Gerber is joining the American Horror Story family.”
AHS will be Gerber’s first television role, having only done modeling work previously.
In March 2020, Murphy confirmed that the upcoming season of AHS would be split into two thematic stories — announcing the show’s official Season title as “Double Feature.” While not too much is known about the upcoming season for the horror anthology series, Murphy has shared a sneak peek at its characters and its future monsters.
As confirmed by Murphy’s shared set photos, American Horror Story: Double Feature will also contain vampiric monsters. Although the context to these Nosferatu-looking beings wasn’t clarified in terms of the upcoming season’s plot(s), Murphy did tag #AHS10 in the post, confirming that they will play some part in at least one of the season’s storylines.
In addition to confirming that the show’s upcoming season will be split into two parts, Murphy also told AHS fans that the castings might not be the same throughout Season 10. At the time of this writing, it’s not been confirmed which announced Season 10 actors will start in which part of the upcoming season, nor which roles they will portray. Season 10 will, however, see the return of AHS alums Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock and Frances Conry.
Newcomer Kaia Gerber won’t be the only new face joining the supernatural-anthology family. In February 2020, it was announced that Macaulay Culkin will be joining the AHS crew in Season 10 in an undisclosed role. At the time of this writing, it’s also unclear which role Culkin and Gerber will play in the upcoming season.
In January 2020, AHS was greenlit for three additional seasons, so whatever plotline comes next will certainly not be its last story for some time.
American Horror Story Season 10 stars Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, Frances Conroy and Macaulay Culkin. It will premiere on FX in 2021.
