Star Platinum was the Stand of Jotaro Kujo, the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure part three. In addition to wielding staggering strength, it was also lauded for its precision and the ability to stop time for several seconds.
Throughout his adventures, the hero has had many opportunities to employ his abilities against DIO and what other threats have cropped up across the planet. By identifying his best uses of Star Platinum, we can better appreciate the strength at Kujo’s command in the many intelligent ways he harnesses it.
10 He Used It To Defeat Josuke In Their First Encounter
The first encounter between Jotaro and Josuke was hardly a pleasant one. After the former accidentally insulted his relative’s hair, he flew into a violent rage and attempted to harness Shining Diamond against him.
Considering that Higashikata’s Stand was deadly enough to fuse his opponents with rocks, this boded a massive challenge for Jotaro if he approached the situation carelessly. However, since he used Star Platinum’s time-stopping ability, he was able to best Josuke without any significant risk to himself.
9 He Pulverized Steely Dan After The Villain Was Made Vulnerable
Once Joseph Joestar was freed from Steely Dan’s mind-destroying “Lovers,” Jotaro pretended as if he was going to leave so that he’d expose the villain’s second plan to take a hostage. Since he anticipated his foe’s duplicity, he stalled so that his victory would be absolute.
Once Kakyoin’s Hierophant Green liberated the victims from Dan’s Stand, there was no longer anything preventing Kujo from assaulting his opponent. What came next was a flurry of fists so devastating that his opponent was never seen again. It is unclear whether or not Steely Dan died from this encounter.
8 He Freed The Other Crusaders By Crushing The High Priestess’ Teeth
The High Priestess was able to manifest over the minerals in her vicinity. When exposed to a gigantic amount of ore, this allowed her to trap the heroes in her mouth as she attempted to swallow them whole.
Unfortunately for her, she did not anticipate the raw striking of Star Platinum. Consequently, her teeth were shattered, liberating the Crusaders and allowing them to continue their mission. By the time they arrived at the shore, the enemy Stand user was already passed out from excruciating pain.
7 He Saved A Nurse From Kakyoin
Kakyoin was not benevolent when he was first introduced on account of the brain parasite’s influence. During his battle against Jotaro, his Hierophant Green disseminated itself into a nurse’s body, conscious of the fact that the hero wouldn’t hurt an innocent person.
Without hesitation, Jotaro seized the woman by both shoulders and kissed her passionately, thereby sucking out Noriaki’s Stand from her mouth. After it was spit onto the ground, there was nothing restraining Kujo from concluding the fight decisively in his favor. This was a brilliant synthesis of Star Platinum’s strength and precision.
6 He Suffocated Enyaba & Saved Polnareff
Enyaba’s “Justice” Stand was difficult to overcome since it could not be physically struck. Its steam was able to control dozens of targets at time including whatever open wounds that the Hag was able to inflict on her prey. Subsequently, she was dangerous in melee combat even despite her shriveled form.
To overcome her, Star Platinum heaved a deep breath, suctioning Justice inside of him and suffocating its user. His heroics not only saved his own life but also that of Polnareff’s and Hol Horse’s.
5 He Intimidated D’arby & Forced Him To Second Guess Himself
D’arby the Gambler was a man with every conceivable advantage in games of chance. He rigged his surroundings entirely in his favor, stacking the deck (literally and metaphorically) so that Kujo had no chance of beating him.
However, the hero remained stalwart, deploying brief glimpses of Star Platinum to provide the illusion that he was also cheating. After he continued to raise his hand and stake the lives of his loved ones, D’arby became increasingly cowed until he could not take the tension and folded. His defeat won Jotaro back the soul of Polnareff and all of the others consumed by the gambler’s evil.
4 Crushing Anubis Saved Polnareff’s Life
Anubis was a malevolent rogue Stand that managed to possess Polnareff. Combining his strength with Silver Chariot, it wasn’t long before the villain became an insurmountable threat – and an untouchable one, since Jotaro risked hurting his friend by fighting back.
Kujo’s solution was agonizing but effective. After catching Anubis in his hardened abs, he used Star Platinum’s strength to shatter the blade and render it harmless. Immediately once he did, it was cast into the bottom of a river.
3 He Removed Two Brain Parasites & Gained Powerful Allies
In order to procure new vassals and guarantee their obedience, DIO planted brain parasites in the Stand users he wanted under his control. This was why Kakyoin and Polnareff were both hostile to the group at the earlier chapters of their adventures.
The parasites were not designed to be removed, and those who tried would risk being infected themselves. However, Star Platinum was able to extract them on account of its amazing precision without overstimulating its defense mechanisms. By doing so, he gained two powerful and invaluable allies.
2 He Outsmarted & Defeated DIO
Despite having only recently learned the ability to stop time, Jotaro was nonetheless able to harness his comparatively lesser power against DIO and defeat him. Whenever the World’s ability took effect, the vampire was forced to be cautious as not to incur his opponent’s brutal retaliation.
Not only was Kujo able to manipulate time more efficiently than DIO, but he also mastered his Stand’s physical prowess to a greater degree. Through relentless and targeted blows, he ripped the vampire’s body apart faster than he could regenerate even in his enhanced state.
1 He Stopped Yoshikage Kira From Killing Everyone & Disappearing Again
As valiantly as Josuke fought and defeated Kira, it seemed as if his efforts would pointless after bystanders began to arrive. By using his Stand’s ability, the antagonist was almost able to reset the day and guarantee the heroes’ deaths with certainty.
Before he could press the detonation trigger, Jotaro stopped time and pummeled him into the ground with Star Platinum, breaking his body in the process. Through Koichi’s assistance and the unlikely aid of a hospital van, Yoshikage was finally slain, with Morioh liberated from its most pervasive and mysterious menace.
